Re: Sour Spring Hollow

OOC: I dunno.....comes a point where the DM/GM just throws up his hands in frustration and says "The cabin collapses on you because you weakened it's structure too much. All your characters are dead. Roll up four more"

Re: Sour Spring Hollow

Agreed. Matt and Byron will be the rearguard, watching for trouble in that direction. Torches seem a good idea - my 6 will also have torches in their "off" hand, knives and other tools in right hand. The rest of my group stays in the middle.

Re: Sour Spring Hollow

OOC: Nah, hoping for wizard. Mercurial magic, random spell effects - it's irresistible. Probably not too healthy though. IC: Okay, so my characters all have the Devil's Thorn charcoaled on them somewhere, and scratched into the wooden part of their weapon. Gran has it carved into the palm of her han...

Re: Sour Spring Hollow

Using charcoal from the fireplace and one of the knives, Gran sets to work duplicating the Devil's Thorn on articles of clothing for the other 5 in my group (plus fire's if interested), tools, and even Byron Danker's bald spot. She also uses the knife to lightly scratch the symbol into the palm of h...

Re: Sour Spring Hollow

Gran minutely examines the symbol, with an eye to figuring out how to duplicate it. OOC: Hmmmm......top of the hill.....Fire, do you think this is an "escape the room" scenario where we need to find our way back to familiar surroundings safely (well, as safely as the last 2 or 3 standing i...

Re: Sour Spring Hollow

Gran tosses the shovel to Nan and the 2 hoes to whoever in fire's group looks ready to catch them. Luc pokes around in the fireplace with his club, Matt starts going through the chests, and Marissa looks through things in the kitchen area. OOC: I'm fine with the way the deaths have happened so far t...

Re: Sour Spring Hollow

OOC: I always figured clubs were a makeshift piece of wood, which could be found anywhere. Anyway, welcome fire and your four doomed volunteers :) Will you be sticking around for the main event after the funnel? I'm thinking that the new group had similar experiences to mine, but a half hour earlier...

Re: Sour Spring Hollow

2 d20s of different colors, rolled together. Marissa 11+1=12, Rainbow 7. Rainbow dies. "Hurry child" Marissa grabs Rainbow's upper arm in a vice-like grip and begins to run. Rainbow twists away after taking a step or two, "I can't leave Ugly Duck!" She stoops to wrap her arms ar...

Re: Sour Spring Hollow

"This rune must be meant to keep something in - or something out" Gran muttered to herself. "Everyone inside! Quickly!"
All 8 pile into the cabin with the rune on the door

ooc: let me know if the door's locked or something. Will try a strength check if needed.

Re: Sour Spring Hollow

OOC: Ah, I understand the need to explain tools now. Fair enough. Looks like I'll be missing a few - I'll play it by logic and update each PC's info at the end of this post. Also updated some names to match groom's. IC: "Rainbow! Give me a hand up. That's a good girl". Gran staggered to he...

Re: Sour Spring Hollow

Hmmm......I just used whatever came up on the online generator. Ok, in-game reasons: The pitchforks, hammers, and chest were brought because of people (groom's-side, in this case), being volunteered by Gran to get some hay (and other things) ready for the horses in order to help her out. They are no...

Re: Sour Spring Hollow

Gran watched her great-grandaughter Marissa sweep through the gathering, and watched many people quietly trying to get out of her way. She hung up the bridle she had just finished with, picked up a curry-comb, and sighed. MMarissa's grandfather would have whipped her into shape. Unfortunately he had...

Re: Sour Spring Hollow

Marissa and her adopted teenage son Luc arrived at the grounds for her cousin's wedding. She noticed that her good-for-nothing brother Shawn had already arrived - that bad influence was already getting drunk with a scruffy lot in a corner, his border collie Shep at his feet happily watching the chil...

Weird Dice shipping

Any chance of making Weird Dice available to someplace that doesn't charge shipping like bookdepository.com for those of us that live overseas?

Re: Would love to join a game

Great characters! They'll need names. Your poor miller resisted temptation once, and with his low Luck and Personality, apparently swore never to do so again! Yup, already did on the other thread: " Marissa the baker; Matt her husband, a smuggler/bootlegger; Luc, a teenage orphan they re...
