Re: On shamans...
hey that looks great...but still dont answer my burning question...how does one compute the roll need on the patron id bond? i looked into dcc's clerics and it shows a d20+level+personality(i think that was it) is that done the same way here? By the core, I don't think there are mods. But you may w...

Re: On shamans...
Ok ive read the thread *are shamans even playable* im totally confused by this. I know they are spose to get artifacts to balance it out...but um, why play one if you can't shaman. If you follow me here, the whole point of playing one is to be a spell casting shaman and yet..you can almost do squat...

Have you considered just converting 5e modules to DCC then? It is pretty easy to do.

I've written longer pieces on things like NPCs, monsters, and save DCs. If you want to write your own material, I encourage you to do so!

Re: keeping character generation session fun on Zoom
The answer to all of your questions, in my experience, is found in the funnel. That is the Session 0, with the goal of establishing who the PCs will be. What the world is? They know only their village and the menace they just faced. The funnel is a zippy and engaging form of generating the final par...

Re: Judge wannabe
Hi. I'm looking to start judging my first game and after some online research picked DCC as my system of choice. Good choice! Welcome aboard! The core book, whilst fantastic, has left me with some questions. Namely as to the treasure tables, mechanics for encumbrance and what you should be showing ...

Re: The Least You Need to Know? or: quick-start for judges
Raven_Crowking, thanks so much. You're welcome! 1. Is there one thing you wish you'd known, or wish you'd done differently, when you were starting? Either judging for DCC or just DMing. Let the game go where it will. If one encounter seems easier than you expected, another will be harder. Let the p...

Re: The Least You Need to Know? or: quick-start for judges
The least you need to know? How the major systems of the game work (combat, skills, spell checks). How Luck works. How the Dice Chain works. The basic job: Provide a context that allows the players to make interesting choices, determine the consequences of those choices, and the end result becomes p...

Re: Rounds vs turns and timekeeping
but in combat, ho rounds vs turn work. if i cast a spen and it lasts for 03 rounds, vs i cast a spall and it lasts for 03 turns? Combat always "rounds up" to at least 1 turn. If you cast a spell lasting 3 rounds, it lasts for 3 rounds during combat. So 30 seconds. If you cast a spell last...

Re: Metal Gods of Ur-Hadad #4-6: Abandoned Kickstarter?
Personally, I am very happy with the first three issues of Metal Gods, and I certainly expect to be happy with the next three.
It is not unreasonable to get a bit antsy under the circumstances, but I am not personally concerned. I expect that the Metal Gods will appear once more.

Re: Why are warriors so overpowered?
Overpowered in relation to the other players. My 2nd level player is a walking tank compared to them, with the potential of +6 hit and damage and 2nd level, while the thief and the wizard are very weak in comparison. As a result, all the combat falls on his shoulders. This may seem the right thing ...

Re: Ability checks and difficulty levels
I am happy to announce the DC ahead of time. Most of the time, I use the standard DC 5/10/15/20 framework, with occupations/classes roll 1d10 if they don't fit the type of action the check is calling for. Sometimes I will bump that up the dice chain, and if a character shows a particular talent for ...
