I'm probably going to get my dice at GenCon. Have to remember to bring some crayons so I can use them while I'm there.Devil Swine wrote:Two sets of dice ordered for $30. Uninked!

Re: Suggested Published Adventures That Would Make for Good
The question seems to be, what wouldn't be suitable for conversion. Almost anything form the old Dungeon magazine and the adventures from the Dragon magazine earlier than that. Eh - Dragonlance modules might be problematic, due to specific setting rules, as could anything for Dark Sun or PROBABLY E...

Re: Progression of levels
Using the 1974 OD&D rules as a baseline, level 4 was "hero" and level 8 "super hero." I suspect we're looking at a similar level range here. In my mind a "hero" might be part of a group (like the Fellowship in LotR) but a "super hero" would be more of a l...

Re: Progression of levels
Certainly seems to be designed for long term play; I like that. Looking forward to see how it plays out ;) This made me think, it's easy to imagine what low level characters would be like, but what about the pinnacle? Would a 10th level character be like Conan at the end of his career, mortal , but ...

Re: Progression of levels
I'm not sure what the low/med/high question means. If it means, is there a point where play is intended to dramatically shift because you've reached a particular level, like it does in modern versions of D&D, I haven't heard any indication that is the case. Yes, even with Basic D&D there we...

Re: Progression of levels
Is DCC only planned for 10 levels? If so, what would the breakdown of low, medium and high levels be considered? Everybody's been talking about 0-5 and 6-10; mostly a low/high situation if 10 is a cap.

Re: Suggested Published Adventures That Would Make for Good
I know B2 was mentioned, but almost anything for the B series of Basic modules in the '80s should work well. I believe all had a structured and stocked dungeon suitable for crawling.

Re: Inking Dice
Any tips for using a crayon? I couldn't really get it to work. I used a sharpie, but it looks kind of crappy, honestly. Also, I have a set of clear blue dice. What color would you recommend for those? I tried black but it's REALLY hard to read. When color a die with a crayon it's a 2-step process: ...

Re: Inking Dice
I never thought of using mini's paint. My original Red Box came with unpainted dice and a white crayon; I've been using crayon ever since to fill in my dice numbers.Aplus wrote:I've since switched to using cheap non-washable crayon, and find that I prefer this method.

Re: GENCON 2011 and DCC RPG
Hello all, I'm new to these boards as well and excited about the potential of DCCRPG. I was curious if anyone was planning on running any events at GenCon or if this was going to be more of a series of pick-up games. I'd be interested in sitting it and giving it a whirl. I would have my two sons wit...
