Re: Intrigue at the Courts of Chaos and some preview pencils
Thanks to everyone for the compliments.
There are a couple of other fairly recently finished paintings slouching in the shadows on the verge of being reveled.
One of which I'll leave up to a previous poster with a name starting and ending with "S" as to when it will happen.

Intrigue at the Courts of Chaos and some preview pencils
Here are some larger images of the courts cover art in addition to some pencils that were in the Gen con program book.
http://dougkovacs.com/dkblog/
The pencil drawings were sort of small in the program book and not everyone got to see them.
These are better. Enjoy.

Re: Running "Sailors"
If you don't let them level up, it will encourage some real creativity from the players and be even more fun for those that survive. Nothing is more fun than plunging into a seemingly impossible situation and surviving. An alternative to give them an increase in resources is replenishing the ranks w...

I had to look that up to see if what you were saying is true. I hadn't come across that rule at all somehow..... should I tell my thief players is the question now...
It does clarify on that very page (p71) if you look at the bottom leaving little room for interpretation.
Your gut is correct.

Re: Using the adventure modules, low player count.
3-4 players is probably more normal among RPG groups than you think. Although the DCC writers have done a great deal of work for you by writing these modules they are certainly not authority figures. It is healthy that you should question their math skills. As a Dm you are the performer: Give the pl...

Jobe traded me a unicorn die that you can get anywhere for my super valuable amazing, incredible, uncanny die. I cried when I realized I had been tricked by him. The unicorn die doesn't have a pedigree that I know of (and it doesn't roll unicorns enough) .. so I feel cheated. It is also not signed. ...

Re: Sailors on the Starless Sea Finale
I've run Sailors several times and never had anyone act the coward. From the perspective of the villagers simply going to the keep at all is the largest shift in suicidalness in their lives. By the time they stand at the crossroads you are talking about they are on the verge of being something other...

I also noticed that what I happen to be working on at this very moment ( cover art, maps, & handouts) involves an end encounter with an enemy that is Lawful.
This adventure is written by Michael Curtis and is associated with free RPG day. Keep an eye out for it.

Re: Dominance of Chaos in the current official modules
I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the very first module we completed: Doom of the Savage Kings . In Doom the Jarl is Lawful. Although he doesn't do the killing himself he has helped put the Hound's killing on a schedule. I think this is an example of when Law gets the upper hand on Chaos, but remai...

I am all for "chaos is not evil" (but can be) and "law is not good" (but can be). I believe a couple of other notable creators of this game agree with me. There has been a discussion on these forums somewhere that has the Poul Anderson Three hearts Three lions version of alignme...

Looks good. Thanks. Moldy diary sounds good too. I'm pretty sure there are some dogs and daggers repeated in there as well. I usually make up something new when an obviously uncommon item comes up a second time. That is unless a player comes up with a good reason why there might be two Giraffe Skull...

Re: Doom of Savage Kings in 15 minutes **** Spoilers****
Games where everyone is about to die but then survive are among the most fun games you came play. That is what spell burn is meant for. Not every wizard even has 20 points of physical abilities to burn without dying. I would expect maximum spellburning if you play any kind of con game where the play...

The Original Poster was me. I've been using that since the predawn of DCC.
I might give you an image to stick in that empty space if you give me credit... give yourself credit for formatting it too.

Keep me in the loop if you actually plan anything solid . It would be great if Dieter and I somehow showed up. Joe and I did some camping and gaming in the Genesis part of the DCC RPG. I've got divided loyalties on the west coast. A neutral ground between north and south might be key to a visit .......
