Re: Free RPG Day: Pod-Caverns Under DCC RPG Rules
Great report, sounds fun.
But, with no experience in play, I think that spell burn and luck are going to be the hardest thing to stop min-maxing and more thought needs to go into the rules of it. Or at least how to handle it.

Re: Birth Augur and Lucky Roll
While I am not sure about your answer, I am with your reasoning. The majority of PCs your birth augur is really your doom augur. It is certainly an idea worth pursuing

Re: Keeping the funnel going?
So I don't start A.N.Other thread a point came up on ENW. Some guidance on how to deal with players with all dead PCs and those with multi PCs left at the end/mid way through the funnel would be good. The funnel is a unique idea and thus needs more time spent on guidance using it for DMs and players...

Re: Dice...
I do want the full range d3, d5, d7, d14, d16, d24, d30, d34 in one package if that is what is needed for the game. This is pretty important to me, I like my dice to be a set, the fact you cannot get a d7 really sucks cos the d7 out there is horrid. GG needs to really get onto gamescience and push ...

Re: Percentage Thief Skills
For those who want to try the "d20 version" of the thief, here is the set of abilities that I was using for most of 2010, before I changed them to percentile skills. Modifiers, huh? What are the DCs? Some tasks are harder than others and DC allows us to gauge this. DC 5 tasks are child’s ...

Re: Demi-human classes...
Hamel has it, you cannot be a Dwarf Warrior or Elf Thief or Halfling Wizard. Your class is set if you start off as a demihuman, Dwarfs are always Dwarf class, all Elfs are Elf class, Halflings are all Halfling class.

Monsters
A small one, monster alignment is listed on the 9 alignment system rather than 3: LE, NE etc.
Also monsters are listed with Act 3d20, now does this mean 1x3d20 action or 3 x1d20 actions? I guess the second.

Re: Percentage Thief Skills
I agree the whole % for thieves and D20 for others doesn't make sense. I am an experienced (since BECMI) and that made me scratch my head. % is a hark back to early editions that is not required. The skill section is short and sweet and all that is needed (IMO) is for this" "If your charac...

Re: Levelling from 0 to 1
GRRM's Song of Fire and Ice: Sir Loras of the Flowers is a Knight who has never seen real battle. He has trained with sword and lance since he could stand and ride. He is beyond 1st level certainly. Rob Stark has the same training and is also untested in real battle before he leads an army against ...
