This is a movie that people either love or hate. I loved it's grim atmosphere, the visuals and the strange relationship between One-Eye and the kid. The latter pair would make interesting sword & sorcery heroes.reverenddak wrote:I also enjoyed Valhalla Rising, it had some moments that reminded me of S&S.

Still not as huge as three core books of D&D.jmucchiello wrote:This is awesome, though some small part of me is sad at how huge the base game book is. Sounds like a heavy book to carry around, especially if you aren't a spellcaster.

Re: DCC preorder : international shipping ?
It's interesting, for me, there's no option to calculate shipping, just a flat $4 charge with the normal DCC RPG book. The only matter is that I won't have enough spare money till the middle of March, this is why I have to know how long this lasts.

Re: DCC preorder : international shipping ?
As for international shipping if you do want to order direct, it is your lucky day: go ahead and place an order with the existing $4 shipping charge. Long story short I would be happy to subsidize a bit of enthusiasm early on, and it's easier than dealing with some of Paypal's quirks. So: $4 intern...

Re: A few questions
We're in a Pathfinder game right now, and I'm quite fond of feats. Will there be anything in DCC that resembles them? I'm talking about when you go up in level you choose a power/feat/advantage/talent or something. Thanks. Nope, you get your class abilities, the stuff you roll for birth augur and l...

I'm caotious but optimistic so far about D&D Next, but DCC RPG is more interesting and HackMaster is more awesome, in my opinion.

How about Tim Tyler? Found his art today on D&D's facebook page, but it seems the admins deleted his post and/or dude deleted his account. Luckily, with some googling, I found this: http://www.drunkduck.com/Maidens_Monsters_and_Madmen_the_Tim_Tyler_sketchbook/5022993/ He seems to like drawing fa...

Looks good, although it isn't as interesting as some of the other module covers (Sailors on the Starless Sea, Beyond the Black Gate, I'm looking at you). Can't wait to see the final version, I like the way Doug uses colours.

Re: Two campaign ideas: one shall stand and one shall fall
The ERB Mars books are great, but they didn't seem to fit the style of the books you listed in the earlier post. Mars is more cinematic and grand, while Conan is more dark and gritty. Indeed, but it has many interesting ideas - including the flora and fauna of Mars. I can also imagine wastelands th...

 Isn't that list long enough? You could throw in Leiber's Fafhrd & Grey Mouser tales. Those are pretty solid. It is, but I've already finished most of them (have some CAS stories left and half of the Book of the New Sun) and there might be some stuff I never heard about (especially movie...

I have drawn some maps, and collected some ideas, and I think I'm going to settle with campaign B for now. Re: Some thoughts about racial abilites
Oh, it's simple, actually. Dwarves are by their very nature creative and learn things well, so as they advance they become better and better at what they do. Elves have a lot of natural talent but are basically stupid and never learn from their mistakes. I'm surprised that you did not know this. :l...

Re: Some thoughts about racial abilites
During a recent re-reading of the beta rules, I noticed that while the dwarves add their level as bonus to their skill checks to notice traps, slanting passages, shifting walls and new construction, the elves receive a flat +4 to detect secret doors. Is their any reason why these work different? Oh...

Re: Two campaign ideas: one shall stand and one shall fall
The word "gonzo" bugs me a little, based on my Gamma World experience, and perhaps that has biased me away from Campaign A. I prefer my campaigns to be more straight forward because players do things that are gonzo enough as it is. When a game is designed to be gonzo (see Paranoia and mos...

Two campaign ideas: one shall stand and one shall fall
The decision has been made: once our Wilderlands of High Fantasy campaign ends, we're going to begin a new one in DCC RPG. New system, new world, new characters, new opportunities - both me and my players are excited about the campaign. I have one problem though: I have too many campaign ideas. One ...

I love the box idea! Terrific product idea. I just pulled down the beta PDF, and I'd love to take a group through a pre-built module. I just don't have time to build a custom adventure at the moment. Anyone have a suggestion for a great starting module for the DCC RPG? Sorry if this has already been asked. Thanks! How about the Free RPG Day ...
