Re: super secret project/gary con
but everything you need to play lankhmar adventures is already in the dcc core book. just forget about mercurial magic (as i do often enough), disallow demihumans and clerics and proclaim that everyone can regain luck by spending cash carousing. it is more or less about cutting stuff out than putti...

Re: super secret project/gary con
raven, don't you have rpg brick and mortar stores in budapest? can't you order through them? There are only a few stores and they rarely sell anything besides mainstream stuff. And even if one of them managed to get it, it would be still cheaper from other places. Amazon has quite friendly shipping...

Re: super secret project/gary con
Don't get me wrong the changes sound awesome but there are some significant changes. At this point we will be only using chapters 2, 3, 4 and some of the appendixes as is (and there are elements on chapter 4 like turn unholy that won't be used at all), the rest will have some significant rules chan...

Breaking up the wall of texts usually used in modules by elements is a good idea. Makes everything more transparent.

Re: Level 1 player more deadly than 0 level play?
My experience is that level 1 PCs whose HP roll wasn't totally messed up are way more durable than zeroes. You can also survive for one round on 0 HP and can be recovered later, which increases survivability greatly.

The only thing I would add to dwarves is higher poison and alcohol tolerance so they can eat and drink whatever they want without any serious consequences. That would totally make dwarven culinary more unique without hurting game balance too much!

Wow, this one looks really-really promising at first sight. Lots of rooms, branches, loops, monsters. The map of level 2 and 3 is especially well done. I guess I should read this one.

Re: 5E arrives at Goodman Games
I haven't written an "orc stands in a 10' square room guarding a chest" adventure in years, so don't expect anything so ordinary in "Glitterdoom. . . ." But why is the orc standing in a room the size of my kitchen guarding a chest? :) After playing DCC RPG it's obvious that the ...

My players killed the hound in front of the villagers and then started a revolt against the jarl. Then they went to loot the mound and all died except a thief.

Are these modules going to have a kickass weird feel like the current DCC RPG modules, or they are good old general D&D fantasy?

Quick and dirty druid: take the cleric, add Animal Summoning to the spell list, remove whatever you don't like, change Turn Unholy's name to Influence Animals. I customize every cleric a bit for my campaign.

After a weirdly colored rain strange funguid creatures start to grow out from the ground in the village.
Is there anyone who wants to write this adventure?

Well if they can write one that feels like a sword & sorcery story and not a long session/campaign report, then so be it. With so many good illustrators it might be a good idea to make an old-school black & white sword & sorcery comic.

Is this what others have done? Or does the 3 classed pcs set out by themselves like a regular DnD party? Do they sit and wait for another group of funnel survivors to build up to party size recommended in the first lvl modules? Other methods? Help! I'm running a sandbox campaign, so level is not an...
