Re: The 4E DCC
I'll add on to what tacojohn says: come by the tournament in Union Station and say hey. I'll be the stressed-out looking Large guy with minimal hair with a laptop.

Re: DCC Tournament Year Five
In all fairness, as the Player's Pack points out, we had to change the tourney significantly from what the Gen Con event listing said.
And you've got to be wrong sometimes...otherwise I'd get REAAAL "interested" in your "divination technique."

Wheredidyougetthaticon? Yup, I booted up the emulator the other day and played the first 10 minutes of that game. You go back and forth killing that guy over and over again until you can afford Deluge, a few J-keys, and maybe a red potion. "Would you care for a treatment?" It's funny how s...

Re: Goodman Games and 4E
I'm not going to engage in a full on Edition Wars debate here And we shouldn't. I doubt anything any of us could say would actually add anything useful to an already well-developed argument brewing on any number of other boards. We strive for comity here at the Goodman Games boards, and while that ...

I've been going there forever. There's a lot of great music there, way, way, way too much for me to list. I loves it to pieces.
Right now I've got the OgreBattle tune "Zenobia's Grave (A Champion Has Risen)" in heavy rotation.

Re: Campaign Report: DCC#1 Rat King
AH! One thing I forgot! I use (used?) the heck out of this link: http://www.penpaperpixel.org/tools/d20encountercalculator.htm The ELs in 3.X are based off four heroes, and you've got five solid heroes, so you can't run most encounters as-written. You can use the tool provided in the link above to s...

Re: Campaign Report: DCC#1 Rat King
I can see that. You've got a five-man team with races playing to the strengths of the food groups and a front-line fighter to spare, and if they're experienced they're not going to make rookie mistakes. Most if not all DCC modules come with a section near the front called Scaling Information . I'd g...

Hey! I just noticed that you used Fate of the Vigilant! Thanks! Sorry it turned out too easy, but I'm glad Jessa conned the party. She's one of my fave NPCs.
Did she finally meet justice in the Rat King encounter? Your write-up doesn't say.

Re: Castle Whiterock question - how standalone is it?
Yes. It is designed to take you from 1 to 15 all on its lonesome. No supporting material necessary. There IS this wonderful DCC line that it ties in to, but you can run it as-is and (hopefully) have some fun all by itself. Truth is, if your party is thorough and completes all the side-quests and con...

...ah, Appraise, Perform, and Craft. My characters always have some dabbling in at least the last two of those. No more, no more...and a distinct lack of the "useless" skills I'm so fond of.

Why play Super Nintendo when you've got a PS3? I don't disagree with most everything you said in that post, but this I have to jump on... ...Super Nintendo gave me Final Fantasy VI , which I love more than many things, and many other cool games that aren't available for PS3. Why play SNES? Because ...

Patience, my good man! Save your strength...you'll need it for when the Player's Pack comes out in the next few weeks (which will also contain the title).

If you get time, swing on by Union Station (over by the Omni and the Crowne Plaza). Doyle and/or I will be manning the tournament station and could use the company.

I loved me some Deadlands back in the day. From a metagame standpoint it needed some more character options (why NOT take Veteran of the Weird West?), but for flavor and fun it's hard to top.

Re: 4e Monster Stats
I think the latter is the case...the rules put you in the ballpark, and you eyeball from there. Always compare your new critter to something that already exists (roughly the same level and role) to check its powers and relative strength. A good final step is to have your critter fight a few PCs, see...

Re: 4e goodman covers.
Cover regardless, the content will be the same DCC you've (presumably) read and enjoyed in the past. If you're going to be playing 4E, and you like the DCC line, don't let the cover be a deal-breaker. All the stuff that makes the game fun is still inside . Harley still writes badass adventures, and ...
