Re: Creature Catalog

I bought the pdf on d20pfsrd and checked it out quickly. While it isn't going to be the DCC's Fiend Folio or Tome of Horrors, it's a decent monster book. There are lots of tools to customize and create monsters. The only thing I didn't like so far are the big ass stat blocks. They are way too detai...

Re: What is that system neutral town for fantasy rpg?

I discovered a system-neutral town from Chaosium called Carse. I've read through it a bit -- it's VERY detailed. And there's a great resource over at Wizarddawn. Creates a town, populates it with detailed NPCs, items, buildings, etc. And gives you a map! http://www.wizardawn.com/rpg/tool_ftown.php A...

Re: Barrowmaze I & II covenversion to DCC

Thanks again for the heads up .. it's a nice looking product .. anyone know about Barrowmaze 2 ? 2 expands the barrow field significantly (out to 50 total barrows between I and II). The Barrowmaze is expanded out to 376 total rooms. There's a complete map in this one (comprising I and II). Other th...

Re: Barrowmaze I & II covenversion to DCC

Barrowmaze is fantastic! I did some conversion work for my home game -- some of it is playtested, but not all. This has spell conversions, my method for generating undead (which may be a bit too high powered), magic items conversion by room (up to room 47), and Nergal as a patron. https://docs.googl...

Re: Fear & Loathing in DCC

I still don't have a wizard in my tabletop group, but the elves haven't rolled a 1 on a spell check yet that I can recall, or if they did, it was on a very minor spell and they ended up with nothing interesting in terms of corruption. Kind of a bummer actually. I'm in the same boat. The only corrup...

Re: When PCs die - how do you handle this?

Other than laugh maniacally and add them to my "dead characters" folder, I don't offer a lot of sympathy. Adventuring is a nasty business. Go back to the cheesemaker or where ever you came from if it's too scary... Seriously, though, I prefer to maim the characters -- it gives them charact...

Re: Some more rules questions

Certain sects of religions in my world give the cleric a "spellburn" like ability. As raven said -- Fear no Rule (even some other Judge's interpretation). Hell, I think I would allow a "spellburn" type of function to a character trying to open a door -- might work as a "you ...

I've combined alignment with deity to add additional complexity...but so far it's been a good complexity. I built out my pantheon with an "aligned" "neutral" "opposed" continuum for each god in relation to the others. Also added a random deity roll for each character at...
