Re: Familiars... Do the ever grow more powerful?

BTW, I re-read the familiar rules last night and familiars do scale to a degree. Saves are the same as the wizard's, and if you have a guardian its attack scales with the wizard's attack bonus. Curiously, there is no scaling shone for the other types of familiars, being arcane focus, demons, etc. I ...

Gotta vote for Sailors on the Starless Sea. There are a lot of old modules and new modules that work as funnels, as others have stated. But I'd pick this one.

Re: Familiars... Do the ever grow more powerful?

Interesting. I can remember familiars being a useful but vulnerable low level servant in my AD&D games. In Hackmaster 4th I recall that you could acquire whelks and petunia plants as familiars, which was a lot more useful than it sounds! :) It feels appropriate to me that that the familiar's po...

Familiars... Do the ever grow more powerful?

The familiar rules are really cool, but they don't say anything about if they "level" with you. It would seem logical if they scaled, at least a little bit, as you level. At least +1 or 2 HPs for every level the master gains?

What do you all think?

That's funny -- I never realized that the module was completely re-written. Same here. It's basically completely different in content, I'd like to compare them. Now I need the green version! LOL.. Browsing through the Orange version, there is a new monster type called "Bubbles". It's a se...

I'd love to get my hand on a copy of the orange version...apparently there are PDFs of it out there... I'm at work so I didn't download it, but there's a link to the banned pdf at the bottom of the wikipedia page you posted. I declare it awesome. Too bad they didn't have a sense of humor. EO rules.

Thanks for the extra information that allowed us to get out. After 9 days of forum time being locked in a room it was getting frustrating. You might try reading descriptions and stuff. Plan on segueing current campaign into G1-2-3 in the near future. The party has their own castle now, so it should be easy to hook them in by having them come home to find all their stuff smashed up with boulders and some giant footprints heading off to the northwest... Cool, I had the same idea. W...

Re: The DCC RPG Economy. I think the prices are off.

Soooo.... I went ahead and got the ACK PDF just for the commerce/economy prices sections; the gear costs are too high! A peasant should be able to afford some arrows. Considering 1-2cp a day for daily wages, 20 arrows cost a 1gp, which is several months of wages. It's okay for plate mail to be out o...

Re: Patrons vs. Gods

I'd like to see a pantheon of gods written up for for DCC, like the Norse pantheon for example. For me it's still a bit fuzzy when it comes to deities. From what I can gather, a deity writeup should include: 1) worshipers, practices, and philosophies 2) allies and enemies (including unholy for turni...
