i wasn't able to get a slot in the tournament, so i'm especially looking forward to this one. dan, can you give us a quick run down of what your crew ran into in the palace in the wastes? The module was fantastic. There were so many memorable encounters, I'd have trouble listing them all. My group ...

Palace in the Wastes on the Coming Soon page!

The art for the Palace in the Wastes looks great! I'm pretty excited about this coming out. I'm looking forward to flipping through to see what we SHOULD have done in some rooms. Any rooms that we missed...I'll inflict those on my group. :) I'm also interested in learning the full plot behind it. Th...

Hi Loggahead. If you already have 3E books, that will be fine. If you're starting with nothing, I'd recommend purchase a Players Handbook and Dungeon Masters Guide. That will be all you need to get you going. If you want to run the games as 3E (instead of 3.5), I'm sure you can get better prices on ...

Lastly, IMHO opinion (no flaming from the Chasiom purist please  ), D20 Cthulhu is far superior to the original rules. They are cleaner, more consistant, and allow for easy scaling and intigration of creatures and rules from other sources. If your players know how to play D&D, then they al...

Thanks for all of the advice and info DM Dave! I love the description of the memorable encounter your group had. Good stuff. I'll definitely pick up Cage of Delirium. My local comic shop has it in stock (which is what prompted this thread in the first place). I'll give the music a shot. I also have ...

Can anyone give any more info about the tournament? I would love to know what level characters it is for. matt Hi Matt! The tournament levels haven't actually been announced yet. I was hoping to pry some information out of them. :) I would expect an announcement of the levels and title sometime thi...

DM Dave, your post was just...awesome. I have the regular CoC game mechanics, as well as the D20 (although I'm ashamed to admit I haven't even cracked open the D20 Cthulhu yet). I do own photoshop (I do web development), so making table cards and folders for everyone will be easy. I may need to stra...

Funny you should mention that...we plan to change our team name to "Monte Cook".

Feel free to change the working title accordingly.

Re: Comic Book Movies

About Constantine I'm in a similar, but different-colored, boat. I really liked that movie, much to my surprise. Made me want to check out the comics. Definitely do that. I'd recommend starting with the Dangerous Habits collection, which the movie was VERY loosely based on, and any of the ones Warr...

Re: My Favorite Comics

Anybody else think Alien Legion would make a cool tabletop miniatures game? Oh man...I LOVED Alien Legion as a kid. I collected those religiously. While I've sold off a lot of my comic collection, there were some that I just wouldn't part with...Alien Legion was one of them. Grimrod was easily my f...

That's probably my favorite first thing to turn to as well! If the adventure doesn't have a balance of puzzle, traps and combat encoutners, I'll get bored running it. That's why DCC #27 and 35A are tops in my book. We haven't played DCC #27 yet, but we have tickets to play it at GenCon. Looking fow...

Cage of Delirium - seeking opinions

Looking for some candid opinions on the Cage of Delirium. We'll be hosting a Halloween gaming get-together, and I'm deciding what game I want to run. I'm looking to run a game that has a Call of Cthulhu / Silent Hill type of vibe (only setting it to a fantasy/medieval theme). Cage of Delirium seems ...

List of encounters and ELs

I'm a big fan of the list of encounters at the beginning of each DCC module. When evaluating a module, I'll read the description (to see if it catches my interest), and then immediately find the list of encounters. I look for a good balance of combat, traps, and puzzles. Does anyone else do this? I ...

Alright...finally saw the final episode. Am I alone in thinking that the dialogue has gotten worse? The plot holes are becoming more glaring as well. Yeah...spellcasters are the perennial favorite in our group.

I'm the only one who will take rogue classes (but I'll always multiclass).

Wizards? Bah! I know I'm probably alone on this, but I'll take skill points over spells every day of the week. Still, the wizard's funeral sounds like a kicking start to a game. Well, being a fan of skill points, you'd be happy to hear where the wizards campaign wound up. One of their companions wa...

DCC Tournament Ideas

While we wait for more DCC tournament tidbits, I thought I'd start a thread for future DCC tournaments and what we'd be interested in seeing. Wizards Conclave - an all wizards group (obviously, lots of multiclassing, but every character has some levels in either sorcerer or wizard). Thieves Guild - ...
