fathead, if you're asking about the sidebars, I can't take credit for those. The tournament modules are always well done. This has been my favorite because it captured the whole tournament experience - all of the adventure, sidebars describing tournament games, playtest experiences, and photos. I'v...

Chronicle of the Fiend

My FLGS had only ordered one copy of this, and it had sold out the same day (I guess that they are ordering only 1 copy of each new D&D book, with 4E coming up)...so I had them order another one. Yesterday, I received my copy. Man...was it cool. I enjoyed reading the playtest sections, and readi...

Here is another question then - is there a day that would be better for you guys? I suspect that the convention schedule is pretty packed, but I thought I'd ask anyway...

I might come by and say hi, but there's traditionally a dcc gms meeting/beer drinking on wed night. That's cool. As before, I'll also be running a dungeon crawl earlier in the day as well. So, any judges that would like to get some gaming in (and who arrive early enough on Wednesday to get in the g...

One thing I noticed when looking over the pregens was a lack of certain utility spells, like the various "wall" spells (wall of stone, wall of force, summoning spells, etc.) that would have made some of the encounters much easier. Yep. They were also missing some divination spells that my...

Blood Kings and Here for Beer should be arriving sometime on Wednesday so we may be interested in playing some that night. I am going to ask around the group to see who will be interested in playing a round on Wednesday night. Personally for me, it will depend on if I like 4e of Knights and Knaves ...

Hey Devilish! I'm probably not terribly qualified to answer this, but I didn't want your post to feel lonely...so... I'd have to look through Crypt to read the scaling information (which I believe it had) for more players. Since you'll have 2 more players than normal, I would follow what the module ...

I plan on going to GENCON this year with my son. If we want to play test 4E will you walk us through the new version at the DCC classic? I guess what I'm really asking is do we have to purchase the core books just to play or can we buy an event ticket and show up to learn the 4E game? Good question...

Not yet. I wanted to gauge interest first.

I'll try to get the KFG to support it first (if it isn't too late to grab some space). If not, there is always the open gaming tables.

GenCon - Dungeon Crawl Wednesday!

In another thread, several people expressed an interest in getting a room together for DCC fans, judges, and authors. I'm fishing to see how many people would be willing to join in. Several tables. All dungeon crawls. DCCs or homebrew. Whatta ya think? I've suggested that this could be held on Wedne...

fathead, are you coming to the other side of the screen for dcc this year? Last year I was almost on Ben Waxman's Xcrawl team, until we realized I would have a problem making the second round. :( Yeah...I had wanted to play XCrawl as well, and had the same problem - I didn't want to leave a team without a player if I couldn't make the 2nd round. Last year it was held at the RAM (back room)...and it was overflowing. This year, they're booking some additional rooms in the convention center as well...so it will be held at both locations.

I don't know about a 24 hour DCC room (they'd have some VERY tired GMs...and I think you'd make Adrian cry), but it would be cool to have a DCC gaming get-together - authors and fans running DCC modules or DCC style dungeon crawls. For those of you wondering what would happen to the unfinished Wheel of Time series (I'm not one of them, since I have yet to read any Robert Jordan novels), Brandon Sanderson (I had recommended his book, Mistborn, earlier in the thread) is picking it up for the final book.
