Re: Ship Dates for 4E Modules

At least the 4E covers are better than 3/3.5... um, wait... are you talking PHB, MM, and DMG? Yes, that is correct...phb, DMG and MM. I was being snarky but honest. I absolutely loathed the 3E covers. Totally moronic, At least the new books look "designed" at all, with proper art. I don't...

Agree 100%

That's why I think the cover art should be wraparound.

Re: The DCC Cover Discussion Thread

My 2cents... as I was a production coordinator in the music biz for 5+ years and work closely with design in my current job. To change the look for 4E enough for people to notice: Keep the yellow banner for your details (edition, system, special release info, etc). Change the color of the banner. Si...

Re: The DCC Cover Discussion Thread

Would anybody care about Fugazi if there was never a Minor Threat? Are you kidding me? Hell yes, we'd care about Fugazi. Don't get me wrong...I enjoy listening to Minor Threat, but you can't even lump them into the same category...Fugazi is just a different beast. The same argument could be made fo...

Re: The DCC Cover Discussion Thread

Thanks Joseph, That was above and beyond any answer I could have expected. I always though that the change could be a legal/business thing... but it's nice to know that you're still fighting the oldschool fight behind-the-scenes. This makes me feel a whole lot better and very excited for the future ...

Re: The DCC Cover Discussion Thread

Joseph, Thanks for your patience and participation in this discussion. I need to stress that I mean everyhting I say but that I said it the way I did to express the raw emotion... hopefully to illustrate a few points. I'm really not that emotional about this, Just that when I commit I go full-bore. ...

Re: The DCC Cover Discussion Thread

For those of us who convert the art matters. While words are valuable a picture is worth more than a thousand, and having that old fashioned cover positioned between the DM and the Players recreated a heady atmosphere that modern school gamers cannot imagine, nor obviously can those in favor of thi...

Re: The DCC Cover Discussion Thread

When I do buy the biggest reason will be the content attracts me. However I do not like the look of the new covers. I like the art, I don't like the "look". Exactly...Art = great. Design/look = Bad. I feels the same to me now as when TSR made the big face-lift in around 1983. :( Or even w...

Re: The DCC Cover Discussion Thread

JZ is totally right on, and I think I tried to make some points along those same lines in the other thread. I think part of it is that we held the DCCs in such high regard and now part of the legacy is being cheapened or dissed in favor of the new flavor. Again, subjective but this is what I and som...

Re: The DCC Cover Discussion Thread

It would also seem to me that any FUTURE popularity in the line will owe a quite bit to the fact that the original batch was so popular and praised so highly by us old-timers. If the first 52+ never existed in there original format would these new products even stand a chance? Would anybody care abo...

Re: Ship Dates for 4E Modules

Joseph, Hello, I am a fairly new customer to the DCC scene. I purchased DCC#4 a few years ago with the intent to buy more titles. But gaming, for me, took a backseat and I am only just now getting back on board. The reason I was interested in the first place was the look of the DCC product. Then I r...

Re: Boxed Set questions

hehe, I hope I like them too! :D In anycase... I love DCC#4 and I'm pretty happy with the 1st edition releases I just got (though I'm a little disappointed in the print quality of these special editions compared to the regular 3.5 editions) But I need some new old-school flavored adventures to beef ...

Boxed Set questions

Hey Guys,

Does the "Saga of the Dragon Cult" and the "The Heroes Arise" Boxed sets contain the ACTUAL modules or are they printed into a new format/book for the boxed set?

Just curious.

Cheers,

Re: Hello and THANKS! (1st edition modules)

...Now, having said that, if the terms and restrictions of the GSL were to become less stringint and restrictive for participating 3PPs, then it might be possible for 3PPs like Goodman Games to release products under multiple editions of D&D on a concurrent basis. Only time will tell if this wi...

Hello and THANKS! (1st edition modules)

Hey guys, I'm new here and I would like to use my first post to say thanks for this awesome DCC line, especially the 1st edition versions, which I just purchased 3 of at KN. I had a few questions... How is this new 4th ed. licensing thing affecting the previous product line? Will there still be room...
