Re: Question about Die-Ranks

Sure, a base die rank can be lower than a specialization die rank. Take a real world example to illustrate the idea. base: driving wheeled vehicles> driving automobiles > driving Ford Taurus. You can see there that driving a semi rig is included in the general category, but without some practice you...

Re: DP's & Big Daddy Monsters?

When I said recurring adversary, that does not just mean "PC race." I like liches, and lizardmen, vampires and medusas, and especially dragons. It is a sure bet that a manipulative dragon that works through agents, is going to have ADPs when it comes time for him to risk his hide. Anything...

Re: DP's & Big Daddy Monsters?

I think it's fine the way it is. If I want a special long-term adversary I can make him up just like a character, DPs and all. If you want to give a Dp to an NPC, go for it, but I wouldn't change the system for it. Make it  an optional rule!

Re: Spell questions

My thought is that a sword that gives +2 Harm would not use any PP, but a sword that teleports you on command would. Or a "dancing" ability, or increasing the die rank of an ability, or "slaying". Not a sword with increased max split, or increased initiative, or speech and intell...

Re: Weapons: 1H or 2H?

You can deliver more damage using 2H mode, and have a stronger parry but probably are not as quick. Max split should probably drop by 1 as well as initiative bonus. Mastery of longsword in 2H mode anyone?

Hobby store in Overland Park Kansas reports Eldritch on back order already. Insufficient numbers to fill all customer requests. Lookin' good!

Re: Should Goodman have their own "house" system?

It ultimately does not matter what WotC has for a strategy--They will never get dollar one from me for 4th ed stuff. I've been playing since D&D came in a white box with 3 little books, and what they have today is not D&D. The only reason I think about getting Pathfinder is because of all th...

Re: What are you thinking of doing with ERP?

Vive la revolution! We have been trying to find a rules set to use and here it is. We don't play D&D 3.5, and throw up our hands at the coming 4th ed. Paizo's Pathfinder does not look to be a superior solution. The talk was to go back to AD&D 1st ed. because nobody hated it. Eldritch is eleg...
