Goodman Games

We have 5 players and 1 DM, we often cycle DMs, but I've been our DM for the past 8 months or so.

We were definitely bummed to sit down and see the characters had advanced 8 levels between rounds; would have made character selection a lot different, LOL. I was on eleran's team Gleneagles. I'd say our biggest downfall was definitely poor rolling, esp in round 2, we probably went for a 20 min. spa...

O-level; wow! Where do we find the guard and apprentice classes? I find all the others in the DMG.

oooo, I got ya, you meant for the groups that wanted to take the time to do it ahead of time. Those with no lives, like myself!

Although a cool idea, the big problem with constructing PCs during the session is the time it takes.

Yeah for the most part you're right, but there's so many variables that not sure you can set it to an average. Say you have a 32 page module if you have a party that wants to explore every inch of it and figure out every detail, it would take them 4 or 5 sessions where as a party that doesn't role p...

Does anyone know if we'll get to check out the PCs before Gen Con this year?

Glen Eagles is going to make the finals this year, having narrowly missed the finals last year!

While I can't swap with you, if you have no need for your 1773 ticket, we possess the other 3 and have a 4th who missed and we would buy it off you. If you're only looking for a swap I'm afraid I am no help.

Question, I see there are 6 slots at noon on Thursday, does all your group have to get in the same one or if all of your members get in a noon spot, you can make your team from there?

Yeah longer (to cover more area around the DM and shorter, so it's easier to see over. Both of those would make it unique and very appetising!

I agree with big screens, easier to hide things from the players if there is a few extra folds!

I did a campaign once that I had all the PCs start as 0 level commoners and then they pursued their PC class from there. It worked out pretty well and allowed the players to build their characters stories from scratch.

Good point and I prefer that they figure it out on their own and I know they like to figure it out on their own, but I hate it when a campaign ends at an impassible door
