Re: Aereth reboot for DCC RPG?

The pdfs of the Free RPG Day and standard modules are already available and have been for a while via DTRPG/RPGnow. The pre-order modules, I doubt will be; IIRC, Joseph wants such things to remain special as incentives for folks who actually pre-order stuff. I can understand that but the folks that...

Re: Aereth reboot for DCC RPG?

<–– still lurking. I'd like an Aereth reboot too. I also want to know if PDFs are available or will be available for all the modules even the pre order and demo editions. I'd like to pick up DCC, but the collector in me demands the whole shebang. :) Coincidentally, I'm on my 2nd read through of Cast...

Re: Am I too late?

:(
I was hoping for a Paizo type of subscription model. Last question, is it possible to get Doom and the Rulebook on PDF format ( that's where I do most of my reading these days)?

Thanks again.

Re: Am I too late?

Thanks all. I've had a change of heart so to speak. Originally I was going to pass on the DCCRPG because of the seemingly complex random spell results and the zocchi dice, but as I read more about it I thought I might pick it up anyway. As a collector by nature I don't want to miss out on specials (...

Am I too late?

Is it too late to preorder the DCC RPG rule book (either version) with the 66.5 adventure bundle? Also do we get a free PDF version with purchases?

Who else is working on DCC RPG?

Pommier? Doyle? Ferguson?
They were some of my favorite DCC designers of old (along with Harley, Rick and Mr. Goodman), so I'm curious if they were working on anything for the DCC RPG.

Apologies in advance if I didn't see this somewhere obvious. :)

You could always have the baby do an internship in a revamped for DCC RPG Castle Whiterock! <--- was that too subtle a hint?

Re: Aereth reboot for DCC RPG?

IMHO, you guys need to do a campaign setting with your new DCC RPG. A unique setting and robust module support all working with the new rules ties up the new DCC RPG into the perfect package. A fresh start for anyone looking to get into a great new game. YMMV of course. Releasing DCC without a setti...

Re: Why I love the DCC RPG

1337 = leet. Im even older school. That said, module support will make or break this game. If GG can make lightning strike twice with hefty module support written by DCC greats like Stroh, Ferguson, Pommier, Maffei, etc. It'll be a hit. An updated Aereth is a must too, though not as vital early on. ...

Ohcan Cheddarwood (stare at a bag of Doritos long enough when you are trying to think of a name for a new druid, read Ohcan backwards btw).
Sigh, the good old days.

Re: Have your attitudes towards DCC RPG changed since Jan. 3

I think I was hoping for something like a "D20 Basic". Between the weirdo dice and other changes, I'm not sure I'll get behind this one after all. I went from "will buy a hardcopy" to "will buy a PDF" to "possibly buy a PDF".

Re: Posting Castle Whiterock Conversions to Pathfinder

Page 98 of the PFRPG Bestiary has a sample CR 14 Adult Dragon you can use for Benthos. You can advance it to CR 15 or just max it's HP and use it as is. :)

I usually have no more than 4 PCs so I would probably use it as is.

Re: New CWR Campaign started... TPK first room!

Early 3.5 is too lethal. It ended most of my campaigns with TPKs. In my games I usually allow my 100%/75%/50% rule for starting HP. 100% at first level (max hp), 75% at level 2 if they roll low (example they would get 6 on a D8, 8 on d10, etc), 50% at level 3 (4 on d8, etc). After that what they rol...

Re: Posting Castle Whiterock Conversions to Pathfinder

I was doing this myself awhile back but not from the "perfectionist" angle. Just the basics like converting Class abilities, spells, and some skill consolidation where needed. One major thing I like about Pathfinder is the seperate XP advancement tracks. I never liked 3.5s uber fast low level progre...

Re: Have your attitudes towards DCC RPG changed since Jan. 3

I don't think DCCRPG is aiming at being a "draw people in the RPG world" kind of game. It's aimed at the long-time RPG player looking for something nostalgic yet still new. My attitude to DCCRPG has climbed and dropped and climbed and dropped. Some parts of it are extremely appealing and others lea...

Re: Goodman DCC's and B&N's Nook Color....

My better half bought me one of these for xmas as well. I've tried a couple of PDF files but not my DCC's yet. Your news is disturbing, since the reason she picked the Nook color is because it was supposed to be more PDF-friendly. Now I'll have to go check out my files. :( Paizo PDFs are flawless. ...

Goodman DCC's and B&N's Nook Color....

My better half bought me a nook color for xmas, love this thing. Ive downloaded my Goodman and Paizo PDFs into it. The Paizo PDF's look perfect, but the Goodman PDFs are hit and miss. 51.5 looks perfect, yet most of Castle Whiterock doesnt display pics and have big thin red X's on pages with art. An...
