New Goodman Stat Block (1st draft)

Hey guys, Here's my first run at a Goodman-style stat block for 4E. It's based on the Kobold Skirmisher that has been released from DDE. Kobold Skirmisher: XP 100; Level 1 Skirmisher; Small natural humanoid; HP 27; Bloodied 13; Initiative +5; Senses Perception +0, darkvision; Speed 6; AC 15, Fort 11...

Gah! That doesn't appear to be any more streamlined than 3.5. Bad news... I was really hoping this new edition would be simpler! Well, it is a pit fiend, so it's probably at the top end of stat block complexity. I think we will see more streamlining with lower-level monsters, stuff in the 1-10 leve...

Pit Fiend Stat Block

Thought you guys might want to see this. WoTC has released the full stat block for the pit fiend, here: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/dramp/20080125 It looks pretty cool, but I can't help pining for a few spell-like abilities. You know, they said stat blocks would be more streamlined and ...

Is that for the RPG Metamorphosis? Did it get reprinted? Nope, it's an original story set in the Abyss. The full title of the trilogy is: Metamorphosis: From Dretch to Demon Lord. BD Ah, yes. That makes sense then. I thought you were reviving the RPG or something (hey, it's the Goodman Games boards...

Hi all! I'm a huge fan of Greek Mythology, so the direction this module is headed in is right up my alley. I noticed there was some question about the power level of giants in 4E, so here's a bit I snipped from the front page of EN World: I just picked up the latest issue of Game Trade Magazine this...

Goodman at the D&D experience?

I know it's a bit early, but will Goodman Games be at the D&D experience (formerly Winter Fantasy) in February? They will be offering the first demos of 4E, and as a d20 publisher, I'll be there taking notes. :D

Really, there's no perfect formula for making challange appropriate monsters. Playtesting certainly helps, but not every group is the same, or uses the same tactics, so you can get wildly different outcomes with different groups of similar characters. Like Jengenritx does, when I create a new monste...

Xcrawl = Awesome

I've worked on a lot of the Xcrawl products, and while I enjoyed reading them as an editor, it doesn't hold a candle to actually playing. So, Brendan, I just wanted to say that the short crawl you ran for us Sunday morning was one of the best games I've ever played in. Thanks, I had a frickin' blast...

A deluxe version with tons of game stats and other crunch is on the way.
