Re: DCC version of Reincarnated Series?

I found that there are spell conversion rules in Crawl zine #1. My crib-notes: 1. non DCC spells use a different spell check: Roll d20 + Caster Level + INT or PER mod - armor check penalties. 2. Base DC 10 + Spell Level (x2) 3. Roll => DC = Success; consult the Spell Table Check Effects Table on p.2...

Re: So what DO you do with money in the DCC milieu?

I keep the coinage down, letting trade & barter do the heavy lifting. One 0 level funnel I ran had a LOT of jewel encrusted treasure, and some of it bizarre to boot. The players asked where the coin treasure was, and I told them flat out that this was all they were going to find, and they'd have...

Re: Core Rules Setting Sandbox?

There are a nearly infinite number of game settings out there to use for a campaign, however I would suggest that if you do not want to spend money on a new setting and then do a bunch of reading, a spiral campaign can feel very sandbox to the players. You pencil out a start area and run a funnel, ...

There are a bunch here, https://www.juliosrpgcove.com/resources/ but some of them (Crawl #6 & #10) must be purchased at places like DriveThru RPG.

I'm looking for any form-fillable PDFs that aren't already at Goodman Games site: https://goodman-games.com/dcc-rpg-character-sheets/

Re: Missed the Dark Tower KS - Deep Regrets

Great news. I too missed out on the DT KS, but I chose not to participate until the other KSs I backed are fulfilled. Not concerned about them not being fulfilled or anything, but I have a bad habit of letting projects like this go unmonitored and I forget they exist. In fact, I had to look up what ...

I'd allow a player to roll up 1-3 alternates of 1 level lower than their main PC, if any player is FOMO because they don't have multiple PCs.

Re: DCC version of Reincarnated Series?

Has anyone ran adventures from previous versions of the game with minimal conversion, or even converted necessary mechanics on-the-fly during play? How much hassle would it be? I've not tried it with D&D/AD&D to DCC, but I convert mechanics on-the-fly with everything from OD&D to 5e (exc...

Re: Mighty Deeds: Defensive Maneuvers Hack

Defending yourself always works; Deed Die adds to AC until your next turn, but doesn't modify attacks or damage. Deed to defend another results in Deed Die -2 to AC, but Deed Die adds to attack rolls and damage as normal. Deed to allow another to disengage without suffering a free attack is a norma...

Re: Journey to the Centre of Aerth after Starless Sea

The Free DCC RPG Day offering "Chanters in the Dark" is a natural sequel to Sailors on the Starless Sea and has a very "B4 Lost City" vibe to it. I plan to run it for my players if they happen to take that route, but they have only just gone down the stairs to the lower level, ha...

I'll also check out that PWYW on drivethru. Thanks for the tip Raven_crowking!

Re: Earn Luck points

I was under the impression that thief or halfling characters could only regain spent Luck points. Did I miss a rule that says that they gain Luck in such a way that adds to their score, even if they did not spend any during play? Otherwise, I too would cap all ability scores at 18. Perhaps there is ...

I took a quick look at Ithha, Prince of Elemental Wind on page 356. The Invoke Patron results 30-31 and 32+ allows the caster to summon elementals. Ithha is the Prince of Elemental Wind, but using this table, you could DIY other elemental lord type patrons, or DIY summon elementals as Dogard suggest...

Re: Any chance on making some low fantasy adventures?

The Lankhmar campaign set is very faithful to Leiber's stories. So if those match what you want from your game, I'd say that boxed set is the one to go with... I agree 10%. Lahnmar is pretty much "low fantasy" from the get-go and it's a fun set of rules as well. Give it a look! I remember...

In general, I agree that less challenging encounters should equal less XP, but I don't correlate more PCs equals less challenging, since I will add/subtract #appearing based on #party and module recommendations.

Re: New to OSR and DCC. Changes to the in-game religion system for duty and freedom of conscience.

Re-reading your specific OP. I think instead of having clerics worship different gods, you can of course let them all worship the same god, but maybe they represent different sects of the religion or aspects of that god, or have patron saints that they are clerics of under the umbrella of that god....

Re: Frozen In Time Q *Minor Spoiler*

I say no.

Longswords and katanas are two different named weapons, although the katana functions as a longsword. If a luck weapon said "katana" they'd get the benefit from using a katana, but not a longsword.
