Colorado Crawlers 4/4 game

Colorado Crawlers will have an online game of DCC. This will be my first time to Judge DCC and most of the players first time to play. This will be my first time to do an online game so hopefully it works well. I will use hangouts and post to the DCC twitch channel if possible.

Just a thought I had while going into the grocery store

Wouldn’t it be nice if the Boy Scouts we’re moving DCC merchandise instead of popcorn to raise money? They could host their own tournaments to raise money have Cons. Etc.
wouldn’t it be so much less annoying if they sold something that expanded their brains instead of popcorn?

Re: race-as-class vs class-as-race

Race as class is just a nod to BX IMO
Race and class is just min maxing IMO
Play however makes you happy

Re: Any point in spell level?

Pretty much all RPGs are progression based in some respect, percentile games acquire increased performance, D&D contains new available spells etc etc I think having restrictions on characters is simply the way society has always looked at things. Veterans have knowledge that rookies don’t. It’s ...

Re: race-as-class vs class-as-race

With DCC you can do pretty much anything but just min/maxing DCC like D&D will just end up with you playing D&D.

3d6 that read DCC

Living 4 Crit’s on YouTube showed a set of DCC dice they got. It’s a set of 3d6 that have the 6s replaced with D, C, C.
Does Goodman still have those and can I buy some?

Re: Just curioius do people have campaigns that go past leve

This is an old thread but a topic I see repeated quite a bit when DCC is discussed. There’s an element of GWAR Slaughterama which seems to hinder play beyond 5th level. Personally I think DCC is the best thing to happen to RPGs since Gary Gygax but I’ll be honest in that the gonzo slaughterama ment...

Re: Funnel

I love DCC and I love the funnel. I have zero problem with killing off most of the characters in the funnel. My players however would like to have more than 1 HP. Problem solved 1d4+2 HP for the funnel. No death saves etc but at least on a roll of 1 or 2 the character can decide to run if they want....

Re: Funnel

However when I started this last campaign the players sat down and the first thing they said was “who cares they’re all dead anyway”. Yes remembering the deaths can be good and make the living so much the better but for me a character with 1 or 2 hp has zero chance. You can make something amusing o...

Yep ditto
Respectfully you’re making it a tad too hard on yourself. You wanna make it a great experience for your players but at the same time it needs to be fun for you. Let some thugs slide and rely on your on the spot imagination.

Re: DCC and Aereth.

I’ve kinda gotten the impression Goodman doesn’t want its own version of FR. I think DCC enjoys the random elements wherever they lead. Your Aereth may not be the same as someone else’s Aereth and I think that’s the way he wants it. It’s really pretty cool a creator can take that angle on something ...

That's pretty much the point of it. Players learn to not rely on stats and use out of box thinking because of it. It deconstructs the usual modern D&D mindset quickly.
Doesn’t that only leave “run” as the only option?

Spellburn as written in the book is too much IMO. There’s lots of examples of people talking about players using it to get near automatic results. I wouldn’t expand it to other classes.

How many of you run your funnels as written with 1d4 to start? Generally the characters end up dead with any contact at all. I am considering running future ones at 1d4+2 so they might at least survive one whack possibly.

Re: Economics and keeping the PC's poor.

What to do with a large haul? It’s hard to get that large load back to anywhere you can do anything with it. You’ll need pack horses or wagons and someone to man these to haul it. These people have to be paid and once they know what’s being hauled they’ll want to be paid well. If you’re cheap they m...
