Joseph sees the unholy creature rise up before them. He looks down at the whining dog. He looks at the demon again.
"F**k that jester," he mutters and turns and flees the room. He heads towards the dungeon's exit.

Jenkins feels intense guilt. Xim was correct. How had he not seen that? Clearly he and his companions were ensorcelled. The spear had defeated the enchantment's power over him! "Let me!" The jester takes off his cloak and wraps the spear up, carefully avoiding touching it directly.

[OOC: My PCs don't have food. However, Joseph is a herder with a herding dog (who is outside I guess?). Can he use his skills working with his own dog to draw the dog out?]

"Hey, Short-stack! I'm exhausted. Why don't we all take a break before our inevitable deaths?" Jester Jenkins suggests.

Jester Jenkins and Joseph follow the obviously mad halfing at a reasonable distance.
"Ummm . . . Xim? You remember that there is a horrifying ooze monster in there, right?" the jester calls out.

Jester Jenkins lets out a high pitched scream at the reappearance of his comrades. Joseph stands still, mouth agape.
Recovering himself, the fool clears his throat. "Where . . . where have you lads been?"

OOC: That poor soul was Ragged Rob. He went to the big 0-level funnel in the sky. *takes off hat and bows head.*

Jenkins and Joseph creep quietly into the room, poking around on the floor with their weapons, looking for the trap doors through which their comrades disappeared.

[OOC: So Jenkins and Joseph are peeking into the room . . . the hallway continues past that room and onward?]

"So . . . should we keep looking for the dog?" Jester Jenkins wonders. Joseph just glares at him. The fool scratches his head.
"Perhaps we should go home?"

"Where the hell did everybody go?" Jenkins wonders aloud.
Joseph is silent.

Jester Jenkins and Joseph back away aggressively, going so far as to stand back in the hallway.
"Go for it, man!" yells Jenkins.

As Jester Jenkins rifles through Ragged Rob's pockets (and taking his thieves' tools and sling + stones!), Joseph goes to the edge of the pit.
"Ah-yup. How're we gonna get you fellas outta there?"
