Re: Castle Whiterock newbie

And I'll answer a bit about DCC #51.5: The Sinister Secret of Whiterock. First, you can get it on RPGnow.com: http://goodmangames.rpgnow.com/product_info.php?cPath=187_190&products_id=50985 Second, yes, it can work very well as a lead-in to the adventure. I'm running -- on a VERY infrequent basi...

Re: Adventure idea

Holy cow, Dieter -- I missed this post earlier, but it's a brilliant idea. In my just-revived DragonMech campaign, I had slowly been setting up a gnoll cult as the Big Bad: worshippers of Yeenoghu who have been secretly working to aid the lunar gods' efforts on Highpoint. Gnolls - baying at the moon...

Looking forward to this. Cthulhu should have a Fortitude defense of at least, oh, 25.

Re: DCC Tournament 2009

Third round I thought was A-game all the way. The staircase is a great setting -- think about it, a place where there are a variety of hazards . . . and the spiral staircase really feels three dimensional as you work your way down . . . and there's very little way to get far away from the threat of...

Re: DCC Tournament 2009

I finally read all the posts here. Bifster, that "Muppet Heroes LARP" is going to stick in my head for a while. :D As the designer of the 3rd round intro with the stairwell, the swarms, and the mummies, it does my evil heart good to hear that a couple of PCs plummeted. And I'm mo...

Re: Hero’s Handbook: Eladrin delay?

You'll be pleased to know that Hero's Handbook: Eladrin and HH: Tieflings were available at Gen Con, and both were selling quite well from what I could see. I had already seen the Tieflings copy, but the Eladrin book was new to me, and to be honest, eladrin as a race never really intrigued me. But I...

Re: Hero’s Handbook: Eladrin delay?

Definitely not. It's coming soon, along with a couple of other HH books that I imagine will be announced by the Powers That Be in the coming days. Update: Well, since I see that a couple of the RPG sites are already taking preorders (!), the cat's out of the bag: Fighter and Tiefling are the next HH...

The editing is done, which I can say with confidence, as I was the editor. :) I'm thrilled with the way it came out, and I think you'll like it, too. Next step is layout and graphic design. As soon as that's done, we'll have a better idea of the release date. Thanks for the enthusiasm! It means a lo...

Re: Aereth location?

Another Punjar-based adventure was "The Thief Lord's Vault," one of two modules written by Harley Stroh in DCC #35: Gazetteer of the Known Realms (a.k.a. "the Red Box"). You don't get to venture around outside much (as the title suggests), but it has one of the BEST death traps y...

Admittedly, I'm predisposed to like anything from the mind of Blackdirge, but I got a big kick out of this and chatted up the Critter Cache on my blog (which is probably read by a huge audience of 11 people  ).

Re: What 4E classes do you want from Forgotten Heroes?

An Alchemist class sounds cool to me -- one of the Ravenloft supplements from Arthaus/S&S had a good treatment of that a few years ago. I liked the shadow mage from one of the last 2nd edition books ( Player Options: Spells and Powers ?), but there isn't much there that you can replicate with a ...

Re: DragonMech Questions

I'd have to check with Joseph himself (the author) to be 100% sure, but the entry may be a little off. Looking at it again, I see: 17 (for the HD) + 9 (for the 29 Str) - 1 (for Large size) = attack modifier of +25, not +26 Unless anyone sees something I'd missed, that's the attack modifier I'd go wi...

Re: DragonMech Questions

Arek,

The lunar dragon has the same basic dragon attacks as shown in the v3.5 Monster Manual and the SRD; that is, bite, claw, wing, and tail slap, for starters. See here for details:

Let me know if you need more info. Thanks!

Re: Congrats on the Silver ENnie!

After I told my wife about the ENnie results, she compared the ENnie voting to baseball's All-Star Game selections, and she's got a good point. If you're a casual baseball fan who doesn't keep on top of the stats every week, then you'll likely choose the players either from your team or those who ha...

Re: Comic Book Heroes

Yeah, I liked the early Moon Knight from Marvel Spotlight and his initial run on the series. Just a cool concept -- mix of Zorro, Tony Stark, Jon Sable, and a dash of the supernatural -- and an even cooler costume. But I lost interest when they went too heavily into the "Fist of Khonshu" s...
