Re: Countdown Thread
So, the limited-edition cover is for those that pre-order? If so, outstanding. ![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)

Re: Countdown Thread
I'm one of the 3PP so I've gotten a look at DCC. I know it's annoying to hear over and over about how awesome something unseen is or is going to be. And I apologize for piling on in that regard. But I'd like to say that this DCC book looks fantastic. It is going to be well worth the wait. I'm only ...

Re: Countdown Thread
While I am dismayed to see that it will be mid-late spring before the game arrives, I'm also glad it will be later in the spring if it means that the game will be top notch. It's also good to hear from some of the members who are seeing previews, I'm really stoked to hear it's looking good.

Pre-order shipping charges?
Just a heads up, not sure if anyone else noticed this or not. I pre-ordered the Core Rulebook last night and the shipping was $5.00, which was fine. This morning I decided I would go ahead and order the first 3-4 modules also, but as I added each item to the checkout, it would also add another $4 sh...

Re: Clarification Question
Yeah, I understand that, but my question concerns the wording between a successful attack against an opponent, which states the total on the action die must be "equal to or higher" than the target's AC, whereas under the MDoA section is states that the action roll has to "exceed"...

Clarification Question
Just wanted to make sure I'm not misunderstanding the MDoA action roll. It's only a success if the roll "exceeds" the target's AC, not "equal' to?

Spells per day (spell loss)
Reading through the section on magic, it would appear that a Wizard only loses the ability to cast a spell if they roll spell failure. Is this the case or am I mis-reading the intent of the spells as written? For example if a Wizard successfully casts Magic Missile, does the effect go off AND the wi...

Once the game is out and rolling for a while. I would love to see GG put out an adventure to rival ToEE or something similar. I know there are a lot of standard adventures on the pipeline and I look forward to playing all of them. But I would love to see a something big, akin to the super modules of...

Re: Loot=XP
The point is what 2000 xp means for a fighter vs a thief vs a wizard is not dependent on some weird abstraction of what those classes are. It is dependent on whatever the game designer wants. And I suspect this game designer will want the impression that 3rd level is 3rd level is 3rd level for all ...

Re: Loot=XP
I have to say, I'm a bit baffled at just how casual some players take magic. Perhaps, therein, is where the problem lay with a modern view of D&D versus older. Being able to cast a spell, even something as lowly as "magic mouth" is leaps and bounds above anything that a thief or fighte...

Re: Loot=XP
But in doing so, you break the balance between classes. Magic-users have to gain more XP due to the power they wield, thieves level faster than other classes. The balance between classes depends on this differentiation between levels to keep things in check. By leveling the entire party at once, the...

Re: Loot=XP
For me, it's all about hardcore mode and truly earning advancement for my characters. I really dislike playing with a gimme, whether with magic items, dice rolls, or leveling. When I play I want to know that my playing earned the levels, earned the rewards, through smart, careful, and often times lu...

Re: Stat Increases As Levels Increase
Even though I'm really more in the "No natural stat advancement" camp, I could work with the "chance at a +1 every so often" method if necessary.

Re: 3d6, in order
Your way produces more "serious" adventurers, the regular way can be a bit more comedic. This was the intention. I know my friends wouldn't like to play underpowered characters. But I don't want them to play optimized characters. Unfortunately, if your players are really that adverse to n...

Re: To Mini Or Not To Mini
Generally, I'm of the mind that minis shouldn't be required, though can be used as long as the game is divorced form using them for anything more than clarification during combat or similar situation.

Re: 3d6, in order
A small increase I wouldn't mind, but when you start increasing stats every other level or something similar, it seems like the focus of the characters shifts to an emphasis on whether or not the Stat scores are high (good) enough, which often leads to the problem of min-maxing and then a dislike of...

New to the forums and DCCRPG
Hi all, I picked up a copy of the Free RPG Day module for DCC RPG at Origins, but stuck it up on my shelf with all the other swag I picked up when I returned home. It wasn't until this weekend that I stumbled across it and actually took a look. After visiting the site and getting the beta rules, I h...
