Re: Still a little shaky on running a shaman

Your absolutely right.. The game does seem a little slanted against the shaman. Honestly I give the player a medium good bond for free, two uses with a +1, and I usually give them new programs as they get the minimum level to cast (so far this has never thrown off the game, and they still seem less ...

Re: Anything coming down the pipeline?

Dark Platypus studio has got a few 3rd party adventures in the works..

Unfortunately Dark platypus is inversely affected by COVID and is now too busy to work its own stuff.

Xcrawl DCC 2017 Crawl

Hi

I had a lot of fun running the Xcrawl Detroit this year at GenCon. I am not sure how many players will see this, but if you do, I hope you had fun, and would love to get some feedback, for either myself or Brendan.

Looking forward to next years Xcrawl

Re: No GenCon 2011 tourney?

Yes it is very sad. Helping run the tournament every year was one of the highlights of GenCon. :o

Last year I tried to get an unofficial tournament together and failed. :(

Lets hope for next year. I ready to learn a new system, if thats what it takes.

Re: Castle Whiterock Question

While were on the subject of the Library, I have a silly question. Where is the entrance to the Library, it doesn't seem to line up on any maps. Is it just sort of an encounter "that happens" when they get to the appropriate level. It seems the "Fane of Justicia" is kind of the s...

Re: Unofficial Tournament (Year 7)

Hi everyone :? I am very sad to tell everyone, that the unnoficial tournament has been cancelled. We started a bit too late, and there have had far too many difficulties coordinating with the Dungeon Masters, and getting people to volunteer to run slots. Although I was initailly hopeful that this ev...

Unofficial Tournament (Year 7)

The Year Seven Unofficial Tournament Hello everyone. :D This year since there is no official tournament, several of the regular DCC judges and a few veteran tournament players have gotten together and decided to run the “unofficial tournament”. This year’s tournament will be smaller in scope, than p...

Re: Year Seven Tournament Preview

I kinda agree with Fathead :o I think that the character picking is an important part of the tournament. I also think it's kind of fun. Pre-gens by their very nature suck. By giving players at least a few options, you have somehow decreased the order of suckitude. It also gives all those eager tourn...

Re: DCC Tournament 2009

Most Notable moments, mmmmmmm (according to Erica the DM) Both my round 1 teams played well. I am suprised neither advanced. But neither did anything that was super amazing. I will say that the Browncoats did very well for only having a 4 man team, and the matching brown shirts were very cool (next ...

Re: DCC Tournament 2009

Hi all :D I glanced at some of the final scores. They were quite close. I don't recall exact numbers but the first place team beat the second place team by killing off the extra tentacle(s). Overall team "Wierd" and team "Rain" played the levels quite simalarly. There were a few ...

Re: DCC Tournament 2009

Hi All :D The tournament was fun this year, and all my tables did very well. However it is my understanding that there were a large number of teams that did super good. I say this because none of the teams I ran in round one or two advanced (and I think they all played fantastic), and they all seeme...

Re: DCC Tournament Year Five

Hi Just like to make a reply to Dave and the Crawling Dungeoneers. I'm glad you had fun and enjoyed the tournament. I was pleased and suprised when you advanced (you were probably pretty near the cut). At the end of the round I thought you had done pretty medium-ish. Your lack of 4e knowledge hurt a...

Could I get a where, what and when summary.

This post is long, and I'm a bit lost.

I'd still like to make it if everything works out.

hmmmmm I'd like to have time to play a game (one that I am not trunning). :D As a DCC tournament slave, I don't have a lot of time. I would love to jump into a DCC that I don't own, or maybe one of Dieter's games of DragonMech. Last year I was almost on Ben Waxman's Xcrawl team, until we realized I ...

The world has needed a new battletech for a long time. I hope this is it.

Can't wait to hear more.

PS I loved the cardboard cut outs from the original box battletech, but you still need to have mini's.

I would like to point out another thing about, quitting and scoring. Although it has never really been pointed out (and it has evolved a bit over the years), if a judge was asked the policy on quitting he would tell you. One reason it is not spelled out is exactly that, it's a little cheezy. Truthfu...

I need to get a life, ...and I dont think anyone sorted out the Tarot card angle in round 3 which was super cool. Oh, well, we aren't telling. ? Actually my round 3 team had it pretty well figured, and they were "tards" when it came to getting clues. They totally had the right idea though....

Q&A Someone asked if the slighty shorter adventure (fewer rooms) was intentional. Yes it was. That was part of the playtesting thing, to see how likely a group could get to the actual end. In the past, nobody ever made it more than 1/2 way to the end. This year most groups made it close to the e...
