Re: The DCC Cover Discussion Thread

That would be Clyde Caldwell, along with the others of the big 4, Elmore, Easley, and Parkinson, who pretty much defined the 80's look of AD&D. Can't miss his art style anywhere. The big gems give it away. I can't knock it. You'd be surprised what I'd do on a cover if I could get away with it. ...

Re: The DCC Cover Discussion Thread

My only concern is the cover for Harley's Master Dungeons M1:Dragora's Dungeon. (I think the artist is incredibly familiar to me but I can't put my finger on why. Early Dragon Lance modules perhaps?) The cover has a dang-near naked lady on it. That would be Clyde Caldwell, along with the others of ...

Re: Goodman Games and 4E

I'm curious to see how well the 4th edition rule set, as expressed in adventures, will convert to Castles & Crusades. Well, according to my CK for our 4E try out game, it will be pretty easy to convert 4E to C&C. He thinks it will be easier to convert than 3E is. He is judging based on the ...

Here's the GSL . A lot of us at various boards are waiting for both Clark of Necromancer Games and Joseph of Goodman Games reactions to it. Well, Clark's reaction at Enworld was... amusing. Linky? here Post #64 is significant, but you can go back and forth on those 9 pages and find some fasci...

Re: Any idea on a release date?

The books shipped from the printer, so they should be hitting stores by the end of the month, I think. I'll have to ask Joseph how fast people can get their books by direct order, though I know you're doing the game a big favor by going through your local FLAGS. ;-) I guess I'll have to see if I ca...

I'm curious about the 1E conversion process. Does anyone know if just the core 1E books were used to make the conversion or if other books like the 1E Unearthed Arcana were used as well (for spells, classes, the new version of the paladin, etc...) From what I understand, its more the SRD was used f...

With regard to primes then, would I say that the werebadger has dex/wis, etc. or just say that when using ranger or thief abilities it gets its level + Hmm.. well. Perhaps a creature with added classes ought to tack on a Mental prime as well IF the class itself has abilities that fall under it. A F...

How's that? That's not exactly how I'd do it, but it would work. The hit dice seem unnecessarily weird to me, though Probably, but its good for those who find it easier to separate a 'multiclass' type by seeing it physically written down. In theory, around GenCon.

It's really a non essential book for the system, more an expansion, which is why time is being taken to put it together properly. ^_^

Thats what I tend to do. Im the fly by the seat of the pants sort. I scan an eye over the stats, work out HP, AC and offensive capability at a glance and run with it.

I would like to try C&C. But, at my local game store it sells out so quickly. There are usually only a few adventure modules whenever I get down there. I'm liking D&D3.x, but it is a totally different game. Different isn't necessarily bad. I played OD&D (pre-1ed. ?) for more than twenty...

Personally I think what missing in adventures being written today is the idea that the player can win the dungeon itself. Not just clear it out and get all the stuff but actually use the dungeon/town/tower itself. Indeed. Thats the way more than a few of my characters ended up with nifty places.
