Name of Legend

Was thinking last night, and started a story...then I thought...hey, this would make a great campaign setting, so I wrote it up as a setting summary. ______________ Name of Legend Copyright © 2003 Adam Thaxton Core Ethos Statement Heroes of myth and legend wander the land, right...

The Surgeon....

This is sketch art for a request. A buddy wanted me to draw a pic for a pair of his prestige classes...the Grayport Surgeon and Plague Master. Neither class could be found, and he never got back to me with them, but I drew the pictures and sent 'em both anyway. I may write up my own ideas for these ...

Evolution continues

Alrighty, I have the dirty copy finished. This is what it looks like before shaidng and background is done. This is what the colors might end up being, but I'm still unsure about her shirt. If anybody has any ideas of what color to make that shirt, I've got no problem listening. This is also the fir...

But he does get healed up pretty nice by the cleric (in most cases). I might implement the system if the characters suffer massive damage or don't have access to magical healing, but if a character is healed within a few moments of the wounding, there's probably nothing much permanent. All said, tha...

Pencil Work

Alright, this is a pre-inked piece I just finished. I'm gonna ink, paint, and color this thing in a bit.

It's a dasho (custom race thing for a d20 setting) is modern garb. Her shirt says "Kshatrya Chic" in case you can't make it out (Kshatrya is the warrior caste in Indian society).

This is probably what will become the illustration for the Magus Advanced class, once it gets finished. I'm writing it several ways now, and I'm not sure how I want it to go. It's real hard to get folks' opinion on the matter, as well. Alright, I didn't shade or color the avatar that's flying around...

Canaan

This is something I was doing a while ago and never finished. It was for a planet/colonization type game I was going to run but never did. It's a scene from Canaan, a planet that seems like a paradise at first glance....warm, shallow seas, little cloud cover, few storms, light rains, sun, and lots o...

When I say "play".....

I mean fool around at 2 in the morning. I know there were several filters and around 25 or so layers involved, as well as lots of wet edged paintbrush tool and a picture of the moon. The day after I did this, a friend pointed me to this filter online that does almost this exact same thing and doesn'...

Interesting. Anime style actually comes in several different types. It's the way I draw because it's the way I learned to draw people. As for creatures, well, I'm still working on that. For example, below is a sampling of three Rev heads in three styles. The top is a more realistic style, and the lo...

I wish to apologize for how slow these are coming. I'm compiling them from several notebooks and text files and trying to make sense of the players' notes (it was a cooperative campaign between me and another GM, even though I ended up doing most of the work). Of course, they aren't all that excitin...

The Grand Diviner

All right, this first one is relatively simple. A friend asked me to show him how the classic "less is more" female spellcasting character could be made to look virtuous. This was an interesting challenge, and I really enjoyed it. I decided the main outfit shouldn't be white, as that has b...

Mr. Author's art thread.....

I've decided to put up a thread with just art by me for looking and critiquing. I've noted a few places around, that, when I post my art, I get suggestions and praise. Being who I am, I have a rather deflated self image (mostly ingrained in me by countless poundings from public school chums to a poi...

As the rain pours down, Belle and Rev struggle to extract the car from the ditch it's stuck in, but the rising mud eventually covers it. Broncosaurus Rex campaign summary

I scribbled down the events and characters from the last campaign I ran, one I dubbed "The Inheritors." I was going to write a story around it, but I just have a lot of things to do. I've got the synopses of the campaign sessions, however, and I think I'll post them here for all to see and...

It is done! After many false starts, false hopes, and various beverages of questionable ingredients, I have completed the cream of the crap. This piece of art.

Well, here it is: Mr. Author's private joke (based upon something a friend pointed out; bonus points if you can figure out what I mean):

Yeah, it's a leetle moody for my tastes, too. All gray and green and misty. It does look really cool, and I like the pics of the creatures. I'm having "Strange Tales" flashbacks every time I look at this.
