Re: Designer's Blog #1: What It Is, And What It Isn't
I know that lots of 4e fans would switch to DCC RPG on this issue alone. (Me included.)

Re: Power scale of DCC
You guys are talking as very experienced players. But you have to remember that this has to appeal to a broader base than the guys who already know how to do all this. Its not like you're on hand to teach people how to play. My personal experiences with AD&D while growing up were not that fun. M...

Re: Game balance
I'm more concerned about even regular 'ol AD&D. By fifth level I (my wizard that is) was pretty much using my party for meat shields while I killed monsters. In talking with others (who have had more serious issues with 3.x), this is what has them glued to 4e. They are clinging for dear life, an...

Not everyone wants to tinker that way. And if it is a 'strange notion' I'd submit that its a reality that should be accepted and addressed.

Re: Game balance
I beg to differ. I do think its important to address balance up front. By saying that you want the DM to adjudicate this, you're make a horrifically huge leap of faith on many levels. In many cases you are talking about socially inept teenagers here. Does the DM even realize why his game is starting...

Re: The DCC RPG and Spellslinging
Magic sounds like Role Master Spell Lists... with more thought put into them. I've never been a big fan of critical tables. I think that stems from the issue of, what happens to a player character that is hit by a crit (to be really crisp... I'm lucky.. I roll well quite often), and tables tend to g...

Re: Power scale of DCC
I'm liking what I'm hearing here. I want to put 10 more cents in... I'd like an option to weaken magic. Save or Lose is not what the game is supposed to be about. I'd like an option for weaker versions of the killer spells. Namely the ones that make the wizards rule and the fighters drool. And yes.....

Re: Designer's Blog #1: What It Is, And What It Isn't
I've played AD&D since it first came out. And I'm a 4e fan. I missed the 3.x generation for a variety of reasons. Today, I feel that the learning curve too steep. DCC RPG may solve that. One thing that I've noticed is that many of the people who really were angry with the older editions had issu...

Re: Amethyst Automated Character Sheet?
That's what I mean. I'd like it if it were easy to create characters. I suppose that many of the 4e character sheets out there are no very friendly to laying out a pile of 'Powers'. I also find that advancing characters a level in 4e is more of chore than AD&D. I am a huge fan of the Power Cards...

In Search of Adventure
I just wanted to say thanks to Goodman Games for this book. I just played throught the first adventure and it was awesome. Everyone had a good time. I also wanted to say that I like the shorter dungeon format better. I find this is easy to drop into a campaign. On that note I wanted to ask... is the...
