Endurance/Resistance
Hi, In my quest to create a game that fits me and my gaming-style perfectly I keep pounding away at Eldritch. Recently Endurance and Resistance caught my attention due to the fact that they are very very similar. Even so that a roll to resist poison or enviromental/climate could be either one of the...

Re: Perceive
I just thought of a way to handle Perceive and link it to Scrutiny or perception based rolls for other Abilities. What if you could get "temporary" Specialisation or Mastery depending on how well you succeed. And these can be obviously supernatural or superhuman. For example with 1 Margin ...

Re: Perceive
The fact that I wrote this Effect grants the power of premonitions or to hear the voices of spirits would contradict the limitation of "no divination", and the Ability needs to be changed so that is is effective in its own right, but less effective than a Perceive Effect. I have no patent...

Re: Print vs. PDF
Trying to breathe some life into these boards :) I have my own version of Obfuscate/Obscure effect in place now. Each margin of success of the spell grants one 'degree' of cover (had I been able to post my table I would) and if 5+ Margin of Successes is achieved no ranged attacks can be staged. Clos...

Re: Perceive
Hello! Sorry, you're right it has been quiet around here. The Perceive effect can be used for divination, augury, clairvoyance, telepathy, etc. was there some spell you were creating? I was asking in general to get some inspiration as Perceive seldom see any light in the games I'm playing using Eld...

Perceive
Hello, Not sure how many still visit these boards but I'll post my question here regardless and maybe I get lucky :) What have you used the Perceive effect for? I have a hard time coming up with stuff it is useful for? Telepathy is the obvious but beside that most things feel like it's covered by Au...

I'd like to hear what people have done with Eldritch? I have Game Mastered one campaign in the Palladium world where I did a few hacks of the system to fit that setting (mostly having to do with Circles and Wards). Very soon (about a month from now) I will game master a Dark Sun campaign using the E...

Re: Print vs. PDF
I do remember now...I just didn't put 2 and 2 together. I will have to go back and read the cooldown doc again. Don't sweat it :) I will probably revisit that document as the conversion progress. For example I have to incorporate Defiling/Preserving in the magic system since that is integral...

Re: Print vs. PDF
It was revised: The number of spell points a magic user has is determined by adding up the Max-Value of Arcanum Tree ×2. The printed book had it as just MV of Arcanum Tree with no modifier. Ok, I actually think I tried that one as well. Still with a fairly good roll and spell that carried on into s...

Re: Active games
That's cool! Creating new Advantages and Specializations and Masteries to fit that setting should be fairly intuitive. I'd say the system almost screams for that kind of customization. I agree! This is my version of an Athasian Dwarf. Dwarf (9) Dwarves are stout, short and stocky creatures. Most of...

Re: Print vs. PDF
...right now he is dealing with the magic system. Coming off of the worlds most popular system a free form system is hard to wrap your head around. I tried the magic system out of the box and it did not fly very well unfortunately. It feels clunky where the rest of the rules are so smooth and also ...

Re: Active games
There's been a change of plans and I will use the Eldritch rules to play a three weekend campaign in the Dark Sun setting. I have started to stat up the races which is progressing nicely. It is fairly easy when it comes to Abilities but I have to create some new Advantages to capture some race-speci...

Re: Designers Blog #1: Combat Resolution in the Eldritch Sys
Has anyone fiddled around with the combat system? I like it a lot but some things are lacking to me. First off there are a few weapons that are just plain better to me. The bonus to damage paired with max split makes it very simple, especially vs. an unarmed simpler type of foe, to just muliply dama...

Re: Active games
I do not currently have a game of Eldritch running but I hope to have in the near future. I will use the rules in a sort of steam punk fantasy setting which is based on a swedish game actually. So I will "port" the Eldritch rules to fit what I need from that setting. I do not think it will...
