Re: Complete Guide to Vampires

I re-organized my website a while back. The material was still on my site, but in a different folder. I have updated the PDF, there were a few problems with the PDF which I've long since learned how to fix, table spacing and such, and here is a link to the updated file; http://www.charke.ca/My%20Wri...

Re: Lots of Problems I noticed

Im glad that Dragonmech seems to have allot of people willing to support the system, so here are some things I noticed: The Necrotic Steam Engine/ The Necroborg Class overlap allot. I felt that sort of made sense when I wrote them. I haven't looked at the system in ages though. I'm happy to see suc...

Anyone from Goodman Games going to Paizocon?

I'm headed down to Paizocon in a couple of months. It's close and that makes it 10 times cheaper than GenCon but I miss that massive undertaking. I was wondering if any of the Goodman Games folks would be in the vincinity.

Forgotten Heroes: Fang, Fist, and Song - Color?

First, hurray, all the other classes! The only thing you missed was the gnome and I'm just putting that in there to poke fun. I don't beleive I've ever played a gnome or wanted to until I couldn't. The book looks good. My question is, why not produce the PDF in color? 4th Edition is all about those ...

Re: DragonMech Battles at GenCon

Thanks Deiter! The night before my flight to GenCon I couldn't find my camera despite two hours of searching. (It's still missing.) So I appreciate the GenCon photo! I was mean and cruel to the manuscript for DragonMech Battles at GenCon. A long time battletech fan, I was raking DMB over the coals f...

I would think that treads would let you move faster than legs, over flatter terrain but make it darned near impossible over rougher terrain. Incremental improvements are based on just Labor and Materials. Armor hasn't been factored in. Your mech's size determines the cost of the armor. Unless you have made a LOT of incremental improvements, don't bother adjusting the cost of the armor. It's the same cost regardless of the incremental imp...

Modus are you the writer, or a writer, for E6? I'm playing Vampire right now and it's what people call a very deadly system. Your vampire starts with, effectively, 6 hit points or so, and those never go up. You can improve your chances of avoiding damage, but the point is that you are always at risk...

I've run to mid 20's. The main problem is one their addressing with 4th edition, characters get so bloody complicated it takes weeks to do combat and you always forget one or more of their abilities. The idea of more hit points, higher stats, more damage - that's easy stuff. The problems occur with ...

E6 really bothers me but at the same time, I agree that it's a good idea. It creates a lot of problems - high level spellcasting/powers, prestige classes, high level prerequisites for feats - but yes, it does keep D&D more human. And it really does feel like 1st edition. It'll be interesting to ...

Remember that you would have to increase the SIZE of the amplifiers and they start, what, small? So you need 4 for size med, 16 for size large, 64 for size huge, 256 for size collosal, - and some huge number for a city mech weapon. I would hope this logic would reduce the results to something reason...

I point and jump up and down at the "mending" serries of spells which heals constructs. Clearly a steamborg should be able to benift from that. The Mechanical Soul ability was along the lines of another set of rules I wanted to implement where a percentage of the Player's hit points would ...

There is no small inspiration from transformers, especially combining transformers or the cogmorph but I hope I've kept it steamborgish enough. I really wanted to gi...

Revised Mech Creation Rules (+ Incremental Improvements)

Cheers, The link below is to a revised set of Mech creation rules for DragonMech. I'm a huge fan of DragonMech. I wrote most of the Steamborg material in Steam Warriors and I ran Destiny of Steam and Steel here on the boards for a while. I was frustrated with the mech rules and reorganized them. It'...

There is a way using the existing rules to purchase these values. I sat down at one point and reviewed the mech creation process and reorganized the rules to suit. p84, corebook, has a sidebar: Incremental Improvedments. I sat down ages ago and started working this table out as a chart but Dragonmec...

I was looking at the Pushing The Limit feat, but you can only take it once, and it allows you to treat your Con bonus as if it was +1 higher. With the +1 bonus every 4 levels and magic items floating around, you can definetly get that Con score up - especially if you play a dwarf to start with. Mark...

This post is a little late but it serves to emphasize how busy I've become. I've sort of thrown everything into school and getting Broken out the door and chasing full time work as a writer.
