It was the last GenCon in Milwaukee, WI. I had just completed running a demo for Thunderhead Games' Bluffside: City on the Edge setting. Ah, poor old Bluffside. They went through a short resurgence and I beleive they were planning on publishing 3 new manuals for that setting and then the company su...

I can't get enough Heroes. I started off not interested because it looked like another soap, but it caught me. I find the writing is similar to Battlestar Galactica which I am avidly watching. I went online and caught all 10 short episodes on the resistance (BsG) which are cool.

One of Nedderpik's cannons slowly rises and turns to face the oblivious mech below. There is a tremendous whoosh. The air turns green with steam, not white, and the mech's softer components are vaporized. Being that the mech was controled by green slime, it has no controller and no ruber components ...

I was actually just planning on doing it myself. I posted it hoping Mr. Goodman would come screaming over and yell "thats a great idea" and pay me a million, no a billion, dollars to do it. (Can you tell I just saw Superman Returns, again, on DVD?) With interest in mind though, it might no...

Yes and no. The rules for mech creation are complex. I wanted to build and price components for the players so they have to do less work when designing a mech. For each size category there are a number of elements that remain the same for every mech, or for every mech of a certain type. You could re...

You could use the steam bomb to open the door, but a chisel or a sledgehammer to remove the slime and then just opening the door would take about 1 full minute of work - unless the door is bared somehow on the other side. The doors in this room are designed so you can always get out. The locking mec...

I make sure to pester Joseph with new ideas on a regular basis. I really want a shot at tweaking the mech creation rules. I think creating modules to make it easier for players to create mechs is a good way to go - and to design a spreadsheet or autocalculator would help! I'm still reading the Alman...

Destiny of Steam and Steel - Online Game

DSS is creeping along persistantly as is the nature of online games. I sketched a clockwork puppet for the last update and I wanted to share.

Every month since September has become a little busier. School and writing seem to be snowballing. I finished one book but like a boomerang it came back with requested changes just as fast. However, I have added DSS to my Microsoft Calendar so that it'll kick me in the pants each week to get an upda...

I don't beleive there is a typo or any mistakes on the Lunar Dragon. I've brought this matter up before. Their Lunar ability covers their damage reduction, or rather, their lack of it - taking half damage from air, fire, water or no damage on a successful save and double damage from eath-based attac...
