Re: Core Rules Setting Sandbox?

Unfortunately the good folks at Goodman Games have resisted writing a structured world. It is a bit problematic for those of us who would like to run a sandbox style campaign. Isle of Dread would actually be an excellent DCC RPG campaign. That little module has potential for years of on-going play ...

Re: Metal Gods of Ur-Hadad #4-6: Abandoned Kickstarter?

When you back a Kickstarter to are paying the maker to attempt to make a product. If you want more than this...do not ever back a kickstarter....wait till it comes out in stores and buy it then! They used to reward such a money gamble with extra rewards that made that risk more worth it. Now...it's ...

My current go to thing to do if they lose all their characters is to laugh. It's then time to bring up the next batch of peons to get run over.

while the thief and the wizard are very weak in comparison. Made me cough out my coffee. We need some sort of "Do not read this while drinking" Warning. To add something more constructive... Keep playing. Eventually each class's abilities start to shine. Warriors are indeed Mighty! They h...

Yeah I like the idea but man some of that was crazy Overpowered. I mean just the spells known you end up with is crazy OP in my book. Spells known is a HUGE thing in my games. Players quest and strive and work HARD for the few spells they get. Laying them all at their feet......... Unless I misunder...

Re: Just curioius do people have campaigns that go past leve

This is an old thread but a topic I see repeated quite a bit when DCC is discussed. There’s an element of GWAR Slaughterama which seems to hinder play beyond 5th level. Personally I think DCC is the best thing to happen to RPGs since Gary Gygax but I’ll be honest in that the gonzo slaughterama ment...

Re: Just curioius do people have campaigns that go past leve

I have no idea how many have died in my game. We stopped counting long long ago. I would guess the number of pc deaths would be in the hundreds. I remember some weekends with 30-40 dead characters from funnels. My knuckle dragging players are infamously stupid though. No really. More than once have ...

Re: Just curioius do people have campaigns that go past leve

I use normal monsters. Granted my normal monsters like the orc are created by wizards in a huge vat or are a more advanced version and have breeding pits as well as often will have mutations ect.. DCCRPG always remains a deadly game. Even at 10th level lower level monsters in numbers can take a pc d...

Re: Just curioius do people have campaigns that go past leve

We have had 2 players make it to 10th level. Several more that made it to the 8-9th mark. The vast majority that make it out of the low levels either die or retire by 5-7th level but we just have no house rule that enforces that or anything. People often just get protective of their characters and o...

Re: Passive perception: Luck or Intelligence?

In general i don't roll dice unless i have to. If the pc is chit chatting away and walking down a hallway. Unless he stops and tells me i'm looking for traps and describes how. I don't give him a roll. He just sets off the trap. To be honest if he goes into detail about how he is looking and what he...

Re: rare Demi-humans

The King of Elfland figure is a little different in my game. He is the Elven God-king of the third City-ship that slipped between worlds in the Wild. The Wild is another plane of existence where nature dominates to a much larger degree than on Earth. It appears to be endless and frankly illogical. F...

Re: rare Demi-humans

My Elves came to this world in three mighty City spaceships. One crashed in the far north and to this day it is the center of Elven civilization. These Elves are what most folk in my world think of as Elves. Long pointed ears, thin with pale skin and almond shaped eyes. After conquering the known wo...

So far the three times Elfland has been seen/visited it looked different each time. Once it was a Giant Tree Fort that was one with the tree. Ugly deformed human servants/slaves went about a bizarre dizzying amount of pointless tasks that made more and more sense the longer you watched a location. O...

This is a good question! You know I didn't even realize that was the case! I normally just look at rpgnow's DCCRPG for the newest things.

If their own site is going to be THE PLACE to find DCCRPG stuff I would like to know to.

Re: Would anyone here be interested in a Trump themed module

It's a generally bad thing to bring religion or politics into a rpg endeavor. With politics you are bound to anger 50% of the board population with targeting either candidate. Everyone always assumes most people have their views and are often unhappily shocked when at least half of any population ge...

Toat's Magoats
human warrior 3rd level
with a 7,5,4,5,6,7

Toat's is like a god of war on the battlefield somehow surviving against overwhelming odds even while seemingly seeking death at every turn. While other warriors with far better stats die by the dozens.

DCCRPG's spells are so much .........more than D&D's. It would be harder to do.

That said some quality old school artwork on one side and all the Spell chart information on the other side of a larger (double sized) card would be awesome!

Re: DCC + My first love Greyhawk

My advice is to take a small section of Greyhawk like Homlet and the area around it and really flush it out. You don't need to convert all the gods. Just convert one or two of them as most people in that area only worship those. Have the party start out just villagers and run them through a funnel. ...
