What is Happy Hour with Judge Leo?: Happy Hour with Judge Leo is a less regularly scheduled game than Last Call with Judge Leo. It will take place occasionally at 5:00pm on days when Judge Leo is off of work, not spending time with his family, and can organize an adventure to run. This will be a series of published adventures – one-shots rather than a campaign. Sessions will be recorded and uploaded to YouTube at a later date.
How long do sessions last?: Sessions will last approximately 5 hours with a 5–10-minute break near the 2-hour mark and 4-hour mark. Happy Hour sessions will be one-shots and thus may edited for content to fit within the run time.
Who is Judge Leo?: Judge Leo is a 55 year old inexperienced Judge who has run a few games and played in several more. Expect mistakes to be made and for things to go a bit slow at first. Your post-session constructive criticism is appreciated.
Who can play?: Players must be 21 years old or older. Other than that, everyone is welcome to play including new players, women, and members of the LGBTQ+ community. Players who are able and willing to video stream are preferred as Judge Leo likes to keep things as close as possible to an in-person tabletop gaming experience.
What about dice?: We use the honor system. Roll your own dice or use a DCC dice app.
Are we using a VTT?: We will mostly play theater of the mind style with the occasional use of Owlbear Rodeo for abstract maps and approximate character location – we will not be strictly adhering to grid placement.
Safety Tools?: We will be using a modified Red Card tool. If at any time you become uncomfortable during the session for any reason, please say “Time Out!” and make a T-shaped hand gesture in front of your camera. We will pause the game and discuss how we as a group can make you feel more comfortable/safe.
Will we roll-up characters during the session?: Yes. This adventure has a special character creation process and so we will be rolling up characters at the start of the session.
Which adventure are we going to be playing?: Not in Kansas Anymore by Dieter Zimmerman with Matt Sprengeler. This is a Level-0 funnel adventure that was published in the 2016 Gen Con Program Guide.
Adventure Pitch: 1970’s Earthlings are transported into a volcanic fortress in a fantasy realm where they’ll need to stop a wizard from completing a ritual all while the volcano is erupting. The climatic encounter is unbelievable!
