DCC in Calgary, Canada #4

August 31 @ 12:00 pm

“Hole in the Sky”

Looking for real adventure? Miss the simpler days of a good dungeon crawl with traps, secret doors, and monsters, in every room? Not afraid of death? Come out whether you’ve played DCC before, never played DCC, or even if you haven’t played RPGs. Everyone welcome!

Familiar with D&D? DCC is “an OGL system that cross-breeds Appendix N with a streamlined version of 3E”, except: no feats, no prestige classes, no AOO. Simpler rules makes for easier death!

Not familiar with D&D? Doesn’t matter! Expect the unexpected, the bizarre, the unexplained.

A funnel is where players start with four zero-level characters each: no classes or skills, just a previous occupation, one make-shift weapon, maybe a chicken (if you’re lucky), and a desire to adventure. Be warned the attrition rate should be high!

Bring your usual D&D dice and a pencil. Rules and characters provided.

I intend to run DCC at this year’s RPG Alliance Con and could use all the practice I can get. This will hopefully turn into a regular monthly meet and also hopefully spawn an ongoing campaign after the Con. With old-school randomness, charts, and plenty of luck (both good and bad), come and join the crawl! …Just try to avoid the carnage.

NOTE: We follow the Safe Space Code of Conduct rules. See Event Website for details.
