What's
New With Goodman Games Seminar
Thanks
to everyone for a terrific Gen Con! It was a
blast. The booth was always busy. Our events
were packed to selling out -- both "on the
books" events and the now-infamous Catastrophe
Island escapades. Our "What's New" seminar was
great fun, and we're very excited about the
reception to our new projects. If you missed
the seminar, the fine folks of Spellburn put
it all
on video for you (while you're there,
listen to their Gen
Con recap episode).
A
few of the new projects are given more detail
below!

Grimtooth's
Ultimate Traps Collection
We
are very excited to announce a partnership
with Flying Buffalo to produce
a hardcover compilation of all the classic
Grimtooth's Traps book! This 500-page book
presents the material in its original, classic
form. No updates, no rules revisions, no
changes, and nothing to disrupt the
entertaining formula that has led the
Grimtooth's line to sell more than 250,000
copies since 1981.
This
collector's hardcover includes exact
reproductions of the works Grimtooth's
Traps, Grimtooth's Traps Too, Grimtooth's
Traps Fore, Grimtooth's Traps Ate, and
Grimtooth's Traps Lite. All are compiled
for the first time ever in a hardcover
binding.
In
addition, the book includes all-new
Grimtooth's traps! For the first time in over
a decade, the box of submissions has been
re-opened and reviewed. Contributors include
original co-creator Steve S. Crompton, Tunnels
& Trolls creator Ken St. Andre, and many
fans who have submitted ideas over the years.
The
hardcover also includes historical commentary
on the origins of the Grimtooth character,
interviews with the creators, and a foreword
by adventure author (and trap whiz) Harley
Stroh.
Plus,
of course, more than 500 deadly devices and
sinister snares, from the grimly cheerful
claws of the great Troll, Grimtooth himself --
delvers beware! All traps are suitable for use
in any role playing game.
Expected
release date: Early 2015.

We
are very excited to announce a partnership
with Judges Guild to produce a series of
deluxe collector's edition hardbacks. Each
oversized volume will collect classic Judges
Guild modules in their original format, as
well as the installments of the Judges Guild
Journal that originally shipped with these
products. Both the original Judges Guild
modules and the extremely difficult-to-find
Judges Guild Journals will be digitally
restored to pristine condition and presented
just as they were first presented nearly forty
years ago.
The
very first volume will focus on the works of
Bob Bledsaw: Tegel Manor, Thieves of Fortress
Badabaskor, and Citadel of Fire. These will be
printed with installments L, P, and S of the
Judges Guild Journal. The book will also
include introductions by Jon Peterson and
James Mishler, and a foreword by Bob Bledsaw,
Jr. Additional material will include a gallery
of the various covers over the multiple
printings of these modules, selections from
material presented in later printings that was
not included in earlier printings, and other
classic content.
All
items will be reprinted at their actual size,
including the Judges Guild Journal, meaning
the page size of this book will be larger than
11"x17".
Expected
release date: Mid-2015.

Gen Con Tournament Winners
|
Seven
Pits of Sezrekan
Goodman
Games, DCC
RPG, and tournament organizer Harley
Stroh are proud to announce the winners of
this year's DCC RPG 2014 tournament!
The
Seven Pits of Sezrekan was a unique 0-level
funnel, and our most brutal tournament ever.
Over 4 sessions of "drop-in play," there were
136 sittings and an average of 30+ players per
session. The tournament judging was based on
zero-level characters surviving as many
encounters as possible.
After
hours and hours of deadly peasant escapades,
the winning players had all survived 8
encounters. The only solution to this
tie-breaker? Dice-off!
The
winning players, and their trophies, are:
- Wayne Snyder, Wizard
Mocker
- Travis Lerol, Corpse
Sitter
- Tad Kilgore, Grave Digger
Congratulations to all who faced the Seven Pits
of Sezrekan!

Dungeon
Crawl Classics #82.5: Dragora's
Dungeon
A level 1 adventure by Harley Stroh
Eons past the fabled
sorcerer-kings of Parhok perished in a rain
of eldritch fire. But legends hold that one
tribe survived the apocalypse, fleeing with
their slaves to a hidden city, where the
greatest enchanters of all time could sleep
away the centuries, and awaken in a future
age as rulers of a ruined land.
Now once more the forbidden
spells of the Parhok threaten the good folk
of the Known Realms. A kingdom lies
ensorcelled, a royal family ensnared by the
forgotten dweomers of a long-dead race. When
the best attempts of seers and diviners have
failed, it falls to the heroes to save the
kingdom.
Have the sorcerer-kings risen to
reclaim their bejeweled thrones? Or has a
more sinister power bent their ancient
magics to its sinister will? Only the most
courageous and cunning of heroes will emerge
victorious from Dragora's Dungeon.

Age
of Cthulhu 8: Starfall Over the Plateau
of Leng
by Jon Hook
An investigation into the
whereabouts of a missing artist becomes a
manhunt for her suspected murderer. The
trail leads to the impossible, deep into the
mystical realm of sleep, The Dreamlands. The
investigators must journey to the very heart
of the Plateau of Leng, to the fabled Pharos
of Leng, if they are to find their quarry,
but it may all be for naught, as a giant
falling star threatens to destroy both The
Waking World and The Dreamlands.
Set throughout the globe and
torn from the pages of the hidden history of
the world, Age of Cthulhu adventures bring
new secrets and mind-bending horrors to your
1920's Call of Cthulhu game. Each adventure
comes with copious player handouts, detailed
maps, and pre-generated investigators ready
to risk their lives and their sanity to
confront the horrors of an uncaring
universe.
Age of Cthulhu adventures
include many of the classic elements of Call
of Cthulhu: action, investigation, and a
forbidding sense of horror. Though the
adventures utilize real locations and
historical events, Age of Cthulhu is first
and foremost dedicated to exploring the
horrors of the Cthulhu Mythos, and to
bringing the excitement of heroic
pulp-themed adventure to your gaming table.
So dim the lights, load your trusty sidearm,
and prepare to venture into the unknown...
