From Jeffrey A. Regner and Tricksy Grue Games comes O’Death!, a DCC-compatible adventure for 2nd level set in the Shudder Mountains. Although the scenario could be dropped into any DCC game wanting a little diversion into a dark mountain wood, it shines (or glows ominously) as part of the Appalachian world of DCC #83: The Chained Coffin written by Michael Curtis.
The adventure begins with a humble journey along a mountain stream, but when the high lonesome music starts, the players journey deep into the Shudder Mountains and thousands of years into the past, encounter an Ice Age god, mummified serpentfolk, and even the Grim Reaper himself. It is a story of love, ancient vengeance, and Death. Imagine your own telling of this story that finds its roots in the writing of Appendix N author, Manly Wade Wellman.
O, Death! was playtested extensively at Gen Con 2022, Gary Con XIV, home games, and DCC Day 2022 at the author’s FLGS in Columbia, MD. It features a cover collage by Pittsburgh artist Rebecca Lefkowitz and interior cartography and illustrations (like the one above) by Ellicott City, Maryland artist and Game Judge, Brendan Williams. Other contributions include professional editing by Aaron Cahall and additional illustrations by Kevin Olmstead, Abby Snellman, and Lisa Regner.
O, Death! is a full-sized (8 1/2 x 11) first printing of an original adventure by Jeff Regner and published under license from Goodman Games. The pdf files will be delivered by DriveThruRPG. The physical book will be printed locally and shipped by Tricksy Grue Games. The book is comprised of eighteen pages with new monsters, new magic items, and new magical folk songs.
