Love and DCC: Meet Magno and Nathasha

In honor of Valentine’s Day, I’d like to introduce you to Natasha Fariña and Magno Souza, a pair of hardcore DCC Road Crew judges brought together by their mutual love of gaming—and DCC RPG in particular. It is our great honor to share their story with you.
Nathasha and I have been emailing for years. Magno is (usually) the Judge, but Nathasha has been my constant correspondent, keeping me up on their games. Magno runs most of their games at the food court at the mall Nova América in Rio de Janeiro. I have always loved hearing the stories of their adventures, especially Magno’s original adventures, which include Fireflies of Black Branch, The Scarecrows of Dakkar, and The Last Lost Necklace of Merloc.
In fact, Magno was a featured Roadworthy judge in 2017.
Somehow between Nathasha’s busy schedule as a nurse and their impressive gaming schedule, the pair found time to fall in love. Magno graciously offered to share their story:
“Natasha and I met at a DCC game. I was the Judge that day and she showed up to play by surprise. She had never played before and that was her first contact with DCC…and me.
“Natasha just meant to watch the game, but I encouraged her to play with us. I remember that her eyes sparkled with emotion, her enthusiasm infectious to everyone who was playing.
“During the Tower of the Black Pearl adventure, Natasha’s character received her first corruption. I remember how very happy she was about it and eager to get more corruption! Her happy reactions and surprise when faced with puzzles and monsters…it revived my love for RPGs. I developed a great affection for her.
“It was during the Hole in the Sky adventure that I decided that, at the end of the game, I would take the initiative and tell Nathasha about how I felt and that I wanted to have her by my side in life. At that moment I realized that I had made my Luck check because she replied saying that she felt the same way.
“We’ve been together for 5 years, in love like never before, playing DCC like always. We have a great affection for DCC, because it is the game that brought us together. Every year we play a campaign to celebrate this!”
And that relationship has gained enough XP to progress to the next level. On behalf of the entire Goodman Games gang, we want to congratulate Natasha and Magno on their upcoming nuptials.
