It’s Father’s Day Weekend, which—in addition to that holiday—means that there are two great things happening for the role-playing community!
If you can make it to Columbus, OH this weekend, make it a point to drop by Origins Game Fair! This annual show is a huge gathering of gamers at the Greater Columbus Convention Center, and will see a tremendous presence from Goodman Games. In addition to the huge booth that Brett, Allyson, and Dieter will be manning, we will also be running our inaugural Origins DCC RPG Team Tournament!
We’ve already mentioned it, but if you are playing in the Team Tournament, you will want to download your Players Pack so you are fully prepared for the event. We’ll be updating folks throughout the show with the team standings, with the champions being crowned at the booth on Sunday!

Now, if you can’t make it to the Origins show, your FLGS also has something very special happening on Saturday. It’s Free RPG Day! One of the best single days of the year for fans of role-playing, with tons of freebies being offered up by a variety of publishers. As we previously announced, Goodman Games has our own release for the day, the new printing of the Dungeon Crawl Classics Quick Start Rules!
On one side of this flip-book are the DCC Quick Start Rules. This pared-down version of the Dungeon Crawl Classics rules are everything you need to get started with the game, and run your characters up to 2nd level. As with previous years, the spell mix is adjusted, so each year’s DCC Quick Start Rules is slightly different than the previous year.
The flip side of the book features a brand new adventure! Geas of the Star-Chons is an all-new level 1 Dungeon Crawl Classics adventure by Julian Bernick. The DCC Quick Start Rules also features the classic adventure, The Portal Under The Stars, so this book gives you two adventures to get things off to a great start.
This is the one day of the year you can visit your FLGS to discover free RPG products and help spread some role-playing game love. Goodman Games has supported the event since its inception in 2007, and we are excited to announce our release for this year.
