Just downloaded (309!) - first impression - art and layout are top notch, the quick start is a good idea too :D

Oh, yeah, the art style is just perfection. Not sure I like the chapters wasting a whole black page for just some fun copy ("you're no hero... etc").

Cricky, 7:30 am and I'm download 589 already. Wait until the USA wakes up!

It looks very streamlined and an easy system to master. I like the artwork, but it looks too much to me. Must be approaching 40% of the book! What is it, a set of rules or an coffee table art book? Did any old school publication get this much art in it?

Re: art. Personally, I'm enjoying it. Visual feast and all that. I actually wouldn't mind such a coffee table art book.
What do you mean no?

I was also downloading at 6:30 a.m. EST, and did a quick runthrough. Now I've got to go back and read more carefully...

Ok, I'm an idiot. I admit this, I acknowledge this.

Where on the site can I download this? I don't see a link on the DCC RPG, the main page, the products page, or the on-line store?

I'm sure I missed it and it's staring me in the face.

Can someone let me know? Then, feel free to commence with the mocking and derision...

I was #1050 at around 5 AM Central Standard Time, US. I'm not sure how your 7:30 AM compares to my 5 AM, but it seems like there will be a steady download rate for quite a while.

Will these rules be updated with more spells, monsters over time, or that's all until november?

What I really like:
-Art and design. It blows your mind.
-Character creation with all the random items and interesting bits (like Luck, items, professions).
-Level titles. Now we know what a knight means in DCC RPG. :)
-The game mechanics of combat, skills, magic and patrons.
-Rules for death and dying, esepecially the "one hour" rule.
-Critical hit, fumble spellburn, magic and other charts are cool.

What I miss / what to improve:
-I can't find the critical hit with loosing teeth.
-No magic items yet.
-Critical tables for monsters?
-Monsters are a bit bland.
-I hope the spell tables (and some other) are not the final design, because they are disguisting.
-Some spells could be simplified maybe.
-At least two more fully developed patrons for the final game, please. One angelic being/titan, and one general satanic demon lord would be welcome. The frog demon is way too specific, it's easier to base your own patrons on more general ones.

I will post others in the corresponding topics later. So far, it's B+. I really like this game, and I hope I can try it soon. When I'm back home, I'll possibly post a picture, how I would do the spell descriptions. Dear forumites, please choose one spell for this. One that's not longer than one page. :)

I downloaded it this morning (at work, was home yesterday) and was a little over 5200. But I must have refreshed that page a dozen times before it worked and since the number is just a link to "statcounter" it is completely unreliable for counter completed downloads unfortunately.
