Well, what do you know. I was wondering why they kept asking for copies of the book. Just kidding -- it's an honor and I hope to see DCC RPG continue to advance! The Three Castles Award is a positive step for RPG awards, in my opinion.

There are some nice products on that list. ACKS is an excellent game but I do hope that DCC wins!

Congratulations! I expect to read all about what you're going to wear to the awards ceremony. Seriously though, well deserved. DCC is a great game.

Hey, is it 2 or 1? Are they different products? And had anyone ever bought a hardcover from drive thru rpg?Raven_Crowking wrote:I have been using Barrowmaze with DCC, and the two together rock mightily.MrHemlocks wrote:Also that BIG dungeon adventure (Barrowmaze I&II)....looks real promising!Flexi wrote:There are some nice products on that list. Be happy that you are currently in BM I; BM II is designed to be tougher, for higher-level parties.beermotor wrote:Hey, is it 2 or 1? Are they different products? And had anyone ever bought a hardcover from drive thru rpg?
Both are excellent.

Do you just have the pdf? Or the hardcover? I'm considering picking up the hardcovers... wondering about quality...

Re: DCC RPG nominated for the Three Castles Award!
I don't have the hardcovers, but I do have the softcover of BM I, so I suspect that the quality is good.
Does this mean that you will be leaving the pbp? If so, you will be missed, but I understand. It is a great product to run with, and I am sure that "seeing" part of it from a player's perspective (and I assure you, only a very, very small part, and modified by the person running it) has to have piqued your curiosity about the whole!

Re: DCC RPG nominated for the Three Castles Award!
No way, not leaving... I'm an adult, I can role play even if I have the book. I've actually looked at the map sample to check my work, I was very surprised to see that my map is really close.
Re: DCC RPG nominated for the Three Castles Award!
FYI, I ordered Barrowmaze I and II hardbacks from RPGNow/drivethrurpg. It said that it takes a few days to print them, then they'll ship. So I should be able to tell you in a week or two what the quality is like. It ought to be pretty good, I imagine kind of similar binding and thickness to like the Dungeon Alphabet.
I'm pretty stoked, Barrowmaze has been a lot of fun in the PbP run by Raven Crowking, and I want to TPK my party so I can start 'em over on this.

Re: DCC RPG nominated for the Three Castles Award!
I kickstarted BII and got both hardcovers as a reward, they are good quality. I've not had any quality issues with RPGNow PoD, or in fact lulu.

I wanted to like ACKS, but warriors still suck compared to casters. DCC RPG warriors rule.Flexi wrote:There are some nice products on that list. ACKS is an excellent game but I do hope that DCC wins!
The strength of the ACKS system is the rules for domains and kingdoms.
