DM Screen

Post by gmdave »

What is the news on the DM Screen. Is it being sold separately or is it part of a scenario?

Thanks

Details on the screen can be found here:

http://www.goodman-games.com/5038preview.php

Basically, in addition to an 8-panel screen, it contains a 16 page adventure called "The Ruins of Castle Churo".

As far as I'm aware, it's not directly connected to any other DCC scenario.

I'd love to see a shot of the screen opened up. Is it landscape? Let's get a peek at the art!

I must admit I am a screen junky, I have numerous ones plus that blank landscape screen that was made for Savage Worlds. I'd love some pics as well. :)

The screen is beautiful... although printing it has been a chore. The printer has never done a DM screen before and it's really thrown them for a loop. They had to source a different card stock, make their machines accomodate the long width... the whole process is taking far too long... and now everything is printed, just not assembled, and their machine called the "folder" (which, guess what, folds the thing) is broken so it's delayed again! *Hopefully* DCC #39 will be finally complete next week. (It still takes a couple weeks to move through distribution after that, but nothing can go wrong once that part starts.)

Once I have some printed samples I will post pictures for you guys to see. In the meantime, I have DCC #40 printed and ready to go, I'm just waiting on the #@$# printer to figure out the DM screen!

Printers... can't live with them, can't live without them!

Well, I suppose that's to be expected, being their first DM screen and all. If they pull it off well, maybe it will lead to more exotic realms of printing. :)

If I have a subscription to receive the DCCs, will this be considered one of them?

Yes, it's DCC #39, part of the series and part of the subscription.

I got the first DM screens hot off the press today, and they turned out great! They're en route to stores, and should be available the week of March 18. In the meantime, here are a couple pictures...

Image
The two 4-panel DM screens and adventure book

Image
The first screen provides reference on skills and status conditions

Image
The second screen provides reference on weapons, armor, poisons, and combat actions

Image
The reverse sides provide eight panels of art to dazzle and distract your players.

The screen looks great. 8 panels? Wow. Double wow.

The images make the info side of the screen look sorta sepia tone, or at least off white. I hope this is true, because it makes the screen look awesome.

My guess would be the week of March 18th :P
I'm just messin' with ya!

The screens do look fantastic by the way and with my new play group embarking on the 1st Adventure Path found in DCC#35 this is a must to hide all my evil notes from my players!

Great job as always Goodman!

I received mine as well, and to quote Keanu:

"Whoa. I just learned kung fu."

Now, I have no idea what kung fu has to do with this screen, but it's gorgeous. It's actually 2 screens, not just one, and you get a neat little 16 page adventure for 1st level n00bz.

Ask questions and I'll attempt to answer them.

Will I get an even better job offer this year or next?

Will reality ever catch up with my ego and I'll be voted one of the sexiest men in america?

And finally, will I ever rule the world?
