This product might be adaptable for "Modern man encounters fantasy world" scenarios, from the sounds of it. That would be a very good thing!
SoBH pbp:

Yes, it would be a natural fit for any Lost World type of campaign. No adaptation needed outside of using fantasy monsters from DCC or one of the other 3PP publications in this forum.

That's right. A cleavage rule. It *is* emulating Hammer Horror, after all.

Moreover, it was designed by my wife.

Yes, she's highly qualified.

No, I will not post pictures.

Pictures would be cool. I thought you were cool.

You WANT to be COOl, don't you?

After reading this thread, I suddenly want to listen to early My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult.

(And if you know who they are, smathis, you've won another customer.)

Know who they are? I've seen them live twice. "Daisy Chain for Satan" is one of my favorite songs of theirs.

Saw them in Denver. The whole afternoon beforehand I shopped at the original Wax Trax where it all began!

The record label was in Chicago the store where the guys started from is in Denver still to this day. The notes on the Black Box compilation will confirm this. If in Denver I highly recommend visiting.

The fact that you know that I know that you know that we both know what this item is and that we both know that this item exists is very cool. It's like we're in a secret club. Or cult.

Or........kult. ;)

Because I am such a one upsman jerk, I'll even say that I had the songs on most of that Black Box individually from the Wax Trax catalog. All of the Jourgenson projects, some of the Play it Again Sam (aka Wax Trax Europe) and Canada's Nettwerk stuff. It was all stolen when moving out of the Army!

No big. I like Thrill Kill Kult. And I'm delinquent on posting marketing whatzit for this week. Thanks for keeping the topic alive.

Soon to come...The Exotic. And what I've learned from a zero level play test.

The results might be surprising. Or not.

Not sure yet. I'm trying to keep the cost below $30. It's a labor of love so I'm going to sell it for as little as possible without taking a loss. I'm not trying to start a business. If the cost winds up exceeding $30, I'm going to try to either adjust the product to get it to cost less or figure something else out.

That's one of the reasons artists have been hard to acquire. All the time I'm putting into it is being absorbed into the well-I'd-want-to-do-it-anyway coffer. Planning on doing the art myself at this point. I have a solid art direction but I'll need some time to get the pieces together.

I'm also considering donating a portion of proceeds to a worthy cause.

Hope that helps answer the question. Sorry I don't have anything more solid at this time.

And that would mean the cost of each book below $30. If I could sell them as softcovers for $20 each, I would. Essentially, I wouldn't expect either to cost $50-$60 or anything.

And I don't know if Lulu or Drive Thru RPG will offer the best deal for print on demand.

I don't believe in $20 PDFs. So I'd expect each PDF to be in the $10-$15 range. Possibly less.

In case any one is wondering, Captain Kronos would be the quintessential Hunter. With an upgraded Signature Weapon and the Sidekick feature.

So he'd be at least a 4th level Hunter.

I'll contrast that with Solomon Kane when I post about the Hunter class.

Bringing the Hammer Down...

Post by smathis »

HUGE blogpost was just added about the 0-Level adventure playtest I ran last week.

I'm posting the link so interested parties can head on over to read it. We can discuss it here or there. Please let me know your thoughts and feel free to quote relevant bits that may have sparked interest or concern.

The blogpost on The Exotic goes live on Wednesday. I've expanded my class intros to include a lot more high-level information. Hopefully to generate some interest in the game.

Thanks for all the great conversation. Here's hoping the blogpost continues that.

Wanted everyone to know that The Exotic is live now on the blog.

Yippee Kai Yay, Kemosabe: The Exotic in Transylvanian Adventures
This time around we have another class that will be making its appearance in the Transylvanian Grimoire. The Exotic will be joining the Theorist and the Half-Breed in the triumvirate of awesome that will be tentatively delayed until after the release of the Transylvanian Adventures core book.

Without further ado, The Exotic…
The Exotic hails from a remote, exotic region of the world such as India, China, Africa or the Americas. The Exotic exhibits strange, yet effective, fighting styles with seemingly inferior weapons like staves or oddly shaped knives. The Exotic also has special techniques for combat, healing and working with nature that seem magical to people accustomed to the customs and conveniences of Western Europe.

What the Exotic Does
I thought I may have been too coy with initial class summaries so I thought I would give more information on what these classes do and what separates them from the other classes in Transylvanian Adventures...
