The pre-order shipments have left the printer!

Post by Geoffrey »

The pre-order books have shipped! Harley has received his. Post here when you get yours!

I'm really looking forward to getting the actual book. While I appreciate my PDF, there is no way I can comfortably read all of that on the screen, so I've just browsed it. Once my book gets here, I plan on reading it cover to cover.

I'm always curious about this but, does that mean you will read all the spells as well?

I usually just go piecemeal and read them when needed.

I intend to read the spells, but it might turn into skimming.

I have to agree with you, Thane. I've been busy getting ready for my events this weekend around my job, and I've only had the time to go over what I need. The only 2nd level spell I'm looking at right now is Invisibility, and that's because the adventure I'm converting for the Sunday event calls for it.

Yeah, it's really hard to read spell results tables without resorting to skimming.

One thing I enjoy reading is the manifestation, corruption and misfire entries at the spell tables.

Being the complete opposite of conservative in most things, I'm thinking it's technically already late April. It could show up any day now.

I could have sworn Mr. Goodman said that the books would be shipped from the printer. Did I recall that incorrectly?

The pre-order shipments should leave the printer middle of next week -- probably by Tuesday or Wednesday. The printer is in the midwest...check your UPS grid for delivery timelines thereafter. :)

Just a small wonder - how much time will it take for the book to reach Europe? Additional two weeks? Waiting has been overkill because I do not like read a PDF.

Yes...well done Joseph for printing in the US instead of going the cheaper route. I am from the UK but it is nice to see you supporting your own. Good job.

As an aside, Mongoose Publishing, located in the UK, get all their printing done in the USA because, I believe, it's cheaper than getting it done in Asia and a lot quicker.

Somehow I missed this thread:

http://www.goodman-games.com/forums/vie ... 849#p60849
goodmangames wrote:All pre-orders placed prior to April 1 will be shipped directly from the printer in boxes. The printer is actually custom-manufacturing shipping boxes that are the right dimensions to ship the book. (That's one of the reasons there is a pre-order deadline -- they need time to make the boxes.) The box just looks like, well, a box, but you can't buy these boxes in stores. ;)
... but man that is bad ass. Can't wait to get my DCC box. :)

When I ordered, I listed a PO box as my shipping address. As I understand it, UPS will not deliver to PO boxes. Do I need to provide a street address, or is there another way this will be handled?

Thanks!

Oops, I meant the "check your UPS grid" thing as a joke! The books are actually mailed media mail (for US orders). My past experience with media mail is that it is very unpredictable. The post office claim is "5-10 days" so I will just leave it at that and maybe somebody will be pleasantly surprised. :)
