Re: Upcoming playtests of DCC RPG
Jeffrey and Hamakto -- Sounds like a blast! Mt Prospect will never be the same again and I'm so envious.
Just so you know, tallking with a couple dozen sets of parents was really great, too. We have 8-minute conferences set up in the gymnasium so it's loud and frantic and exhausting. I don't think we had many people laughing, however.

Re: Upcoming playtests of DCC RPG
Are you guys running any more playtests at Games Plus soon?
A friend and I would love to give it a whirl.
We're both from the western burbs, he's north, I'm fairly central.
We've both been out of RPG's since the coming of 4E for various reasons. Both of us are old school/Goodman fans though.

Re: Upcoming playtests of DCC RPG
Probably can't do much until the beta version of the game is released to everyone this summer (unless someone from GG wants to come back and run another play-test there but I suspect they are going to be busy).
However, when we all do get our greedy little hands on the beta version I would be happy to take a seat at the table at Games Plus on a (weekly?) basis to help with the stress-testing of the rules. I might even be able to run the game, as a last resort, if no one else wants to. I'd drive in from the northwest suburbs.
Anyone else?

If they get me a beta (or playtest!) version, I would run a game here at my house in Crystal Lake.
The playtest at Garycon was awesome. It's looking really good.

Re: Upcoming playtests of DCC RPG
Hi,
Some of you might have already got an email from me but here it is for those of you who haven't. I'm the little guy with a beard who played Ratface Slipshot at Games Plus, was up at GaryCon, and paints the covers.
Please email me directly (dk@dougkovacs.com) to work out details if you are interested, or want to be included in the loop for future games.
It's regarding a DCC RPG game in Chicago. As of now it's looking like there is a city/suburbs divide in the logistics area, but perhaps something can be worked out.
Short: Does anyone want to play a D&D game this spring?
Long: This is a finitely mass email going out to those in the Chicagoland vicinity that I have either spoken to about Dungeons and Dragons, or have judged close to positive and open enough to have an encounter with the aforementioned pseudo satanic past time. Following this plea to folk ranging from friends to semi-strangers I plan to turn to the cloud of full-on strangers if necessary.
I've been working on art for a Role-playing Game based on a re-imagining of Dungeons and Dragons from the 1970's point of view called 'The Dungeon Crawl Classics RPG'.
I would also like to run a game in this world.
The goal would be simple fun, not too much ball busting, and not too much emphasis on rules. The system will be familiar to anyone who has played any kind of RPG previously with a few unique tweaks. I plan to start with zero level characters and each player will likely start with multiple characters, due to an anticipated high death rates.

Will there be any session of DCC run at GenCon this year? I have never looked forward to an RPG this much and can't wait to try it.
Thanks,

Not officially anyway. I'm still trying to work out the logistics to see if I can make it there or not, but if I do I'd be happy to run a couple "off the grid" games.goodmangames wrote: Sorry, none at Gen Con this year! .

I would like to get a play test going at Connecticon (www.connecticon.org) in Hartford, CT in July. Do you have anyone local? I have heard some great things from the Play test done in NYC, and would love to have it the the Convention I assist in running programing for.

Re: Upcoming playtests of DCC RPG
Julian here in Minneapolis. I am eager to GM or play as a playtester. GG folks, feel free to hook me up and I'll be happy to run some sessions and provide feedback.
I'll also be attending GENCON and would be interested in GMing or playing in a playtest event off-grid if GG wants to encourage that.

Re: Upcoming playtests of DCC RPG
In a few weeks, when the beta rules release, EVERYONE will get a chance to play! So hopefully that will address some of the requests in places we can't reach easily.
In the meantime, I'll be running another game at the SoCal Minicon in Anaheim on July 30-31. If you're in the neighborhood, come on by!
