Magical Sword Empathy?

How do you Judges handle magical swords with Empathy instead of Speech or Telepathy?

Does the wielder get a "positive vibe" when doing things the sword wants, and conversely, a "negative" one when doing the opposite?

Or does it impact the moods of the wielder over time to act more in accordance with the sword's desires?

I'm looking for "cool things" that empathy does over, say, the bombastic speech of a speaking sword.

I've used warm vs. cold, light vs. heavy, even had the item pull or drop for a big reaction.
