DCC online campaign

Post by Lynx1482 »

Anyone up for an online game? Most online sites seem to think 5E is the only way to play.

I have 27 years GM experience, although am new to DCC. Willing to either GM or play.

I'm central time zone and am willing to play week days or weekend in the evening.

Hopefully we can enough players to make something happen....

I'm also interested in playing this online.
I'm new to DCC but not rpg in general
I'm eastern time zone but prefer to play later as I have kids

Thanks

That should be enough if we can arrange the same time for everyone.

I have two groups in other systems. One that runs every other Wednesday and every other Friday.

I could stagger our game with the others. So, 6pm central time every other week or 6pm friday every other week.

Mondays does not work well with me, but I'm open for other times like possibly Tuesday, Thursday or Sunday around 6pm central.

Also, what type of DCC games are you guys wanting: running through the printed modules, a classic style old school hex crawl, a thief or urban campaign (may have to wait for Lankmar), or a more traditional dnd campaign with a connected story like an adventure path?

Would it be starting this Wednesday (29th) or next (5th)? I work continental with every two weeks rotating, so I've got the 5th off. I'm stoked! As for the type of game whatever is the easiest for whoever is the judge, I'd hate to make them work to hard.

Wednesday the 5th would likely be the start date if we do alternating Wednesdays since my other group is supposed to meet on the 29th.

The hubris campaign world is another option for DCC if anyone has has the chance to read it.

That works perfectly for me! I'm still pretty new to DCC I've heard of hubris but I haven't read anything on it, not even to sure what it is. Is there anything I shouldn't read for it?

Okay, just PM everyone who appeared interested and two of my real life friends who live in a distant town want to play if we can get scheduling to work. They suggested Sunday evening? Does that time work for most people? If so can probably get something together....

If not i can discuss with them other possible times.

Would it still be at 6 central or could it be a bit later? And for this Sunday or next?

I am still interested in joining. I live in the Eastern time zone and Sunday nights work for me.

since there still is some unknown what days we would be meeting I will add that Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, or Thursday work for me

I assume if Sunday is the day we go with that we would not start this week with the holiday.

Thanks. looking forward to this.

We could maybe start at 7 pm central on Sundays. My best friend works early Mondays so couldn't go later without running into 11.

Roll20 would be easiest. I do have the ultimate fantasy grounds license but never got comfortable with the interface. Back in the day i used Map tools for about 6 years of online gaming, so that is the easiest for me to make maps. Any input?

Sunday the 9th would be first day. Going to run a funnel first, probably sailors of the starless sea.

Awesome! That works for me. Should we be rolling up for hubris or from the corebook? What would you like us to have ready or what would you like us to leave until we start?

We can either roll up are random funnel characters on the day of so that our random characters live or die by our own luck statwise, or there is a character generator online that we can use: https://purplesorcerer.com/create_party.php

I don't think I'll be using Hubris since most people don't seem to have it. I'll just stick to running modules for now and a generic world, expanding as needed.

Seeing if my friend is willing for us to use his discord or if we should use roll20 to communicate. Not sold over using it over maptools.... will have to play around with maptools this weekend to make a decision.

Alright sounds good! Hubris is a pretty good read anyway. Should we set up like a google community?

Is there room for one more?

I've run some funnels at the local game store and mostly GM for people. I'd love a chance to play DCC for a change!
