Monsters in Lankhmar
I'm new to Leiber's world of Lankhmar, and was curious as to what kinds of monsters or bizarre creatures are present.

That would spoil a lot of stories, why not start reading the Lankhmar stories? They are very easy to read, you can finish them quickly.sundang wrote:I'm new to Leiber's world of Lankhmar, and was curious as to what kinds of monsters or bizarre creatures are present.
But if you really want some information, here is a short article about the monsters of Nehwon: http://www.scrollsoflankhmar.com/rpggui ... onmonsters. D&D's demi-liches and cloakers were surely inspired by Leiber's work.
Vorpal Mace: a humble rpg blog with some DCC-related stuff.
Re: Monsters in Lankhmar
In response to the OP. If you want to see some monsters stat-ed up, the TSR AD&D book Deities and Demigods (or the version renamed to Legends & Lore) has a section on Lankhmar and includes something of a bestiary (along with stats for Fafhrd Grey Mouser, gods and other major characters like Sheelba and Ningauble). So not explicitly DCC RPG, but close enough to get some ideas. You can get a PDF at places like RPGnow.com or buy a dead-tree version off of E-bay (or wherever else you might buy used games books).
Beyond that, the short stories are easy reads and really is the best place to start.
