Into the Borderlands - Both B1 maps have roman numerals?

Hi.. recently purchased into the borderlands, and was paging through.
I was looking at the original prints of B1: The first map and encounter rooms are in roman numerals, which is pretty hard to process. I noticed the 2nd version had arabic numbers for the encounters, but the map still has Roman numerals? Shouldn't it have had arabic numbers to match the module? Maps are on pp. 21 and 57.
I fully expect to be wrong about this, I am mostly curious. And I was hoping there was a map with roman numerals that would be easier to read somewhere.
