On page 185 you mention there are "assorted adventuring characters" that are available for download on your site. I can't find them. Where are they? I looked in the Download section and the PCs there are not 5e compatible.

Does this publication provide an entire homebrew setting?

I'm a bit thrown off by this "Cyndicean" human with darkvision that can't speak common....

It neat that they used some of the characters from Return to the Keep.
I would have liked to see the REAL originals- Black Dougal (thief), Silverleaf(elf), Morgan Ironwolf(fighter), Fredrik(dwarf), Sister Rebecca(cleric).

Ok, when downloading the "Into the Boarderlands" Pre-Gen PDF, only the 1st sheet for Myrna, is filled in.

However, when it is in a browser they are all filled in.

I think Dalar Deweweller's Flaw is wrong as it is for a thief!

Flaws:
It’s not stealing if I need it more than others

Aseneth has something called Spell Dave DC 15 which I think should be Spell Save DC 15!

While we wait for Goodman Games to fix up their, "Into the Borderlands" 5th Edition Pre-Gens, here are my 1st/2nd Edition Version.
The main changes were for equipment as a few were over encumbered.

I made 2 versions of Aseneth, one is a regular 1E Magic-User, the other is Multi-classing as a Witch / Necromancer (using information from "Astonish Swordsmen & Sorcerers of Hyperborea"), to better fit her description. Also I Kept her 2 5E spells:

Ok, here are the Individual final versions of the Character Sheets for my “Into the Borderlands” Advanced Dungeons & Dragons 1st /2nd Edition game:

Here are my 1st/2nd Edition AD&D Version conversion (5th Revision), of Goodman Game's 5E Pre-Gen Character sheets for the "Into the Borderlands", adventure module!
I went through another editing pass to clean it up, (5th one). I removed the multi-classing Aseneth as witch / necromancer that used information from Astonishing Swordsmen and Sorcerers of Hyperborea).

I made 2 versions of Aseneth, one is a regular 1E Magic-User, the other the 2E Witch from "The Complete Wizard's Handbook. Either use the 1E Magic-user level progression or the 2E.
Also made a note on the sheet that Aseneth perfers Necromancy spells:

Ok, here are the Individual, 5th revision, of the Character Sheets for my “Into the Borderlands” Advanced Dungeons & Dragons 1st /2nd Edition game in a dropbox folder:

https://www.dropbox.com/sh/s983ylno05nc ... ffKsa?dl=0

Pre-Gen 1st-2nd Edition Characters are:
Myrna the Female Human bard (2nd edition version)

Breccia the Male Hill Dwarf Cleric

Brother Martin the Human Male Cleric

Opal the Female Human Druid

Cob The Human Male Fighter

Third, Warrior Maiden of Maruda (Fighter), Female Human (Cynidicean)

Dalar Deweweller, the Male Wood Elf Ranger

Manu the Mountain Dwarf Paladin Knight

Aseneth, the Female Human Magic-User (Wizard)

Aseneth, the Witch (2nd Edition Complete Wizard's Handbook Version; Either use the 1E Magic-user level progression or the 2E)

Dubricus d’Amberville, the Human Male Magic-User (Wizard)

Jess the Female Human Thief

Mouse the Male Lightfoot Halfling Thief

I used this online character generator to create these "Moldvay Basic" characters.

It does all the random die rolls for you, and once rolled, you can't fiddle with the numbers, so Morgan Ironwolf may not have the stats that she did in the Basic rulebook.

Otherwise, make sure you click the choice to use a name of your choosing, or it'll randomly create a character name for you.

It also doesn't have a multi-classing feature, so Silverleaf wound up a first level Eldritch Knight with no spells at 1st level! I tried making him a 3rd level warlock of the fey, but ultimately, I did not like this version because of the constant Patron choice of "The Choir of Silence". This was an unknown thing to me, and when I did a search for it, it read more as a patron of the Great Old One, or something from Warhammer Fantasy - NOT a Fey Patron!

You can choose race, class, background, alignment & level, but the gender for the character name only works for randomly generated names, and won't work if you choose a name for your character.

I've fiddled with this batch (Morgan & Company...) for a couple hours until I got the class and background combos to produce characters that I feel are as close to Moldvay Basic D&D characters as this 5e character generator can produce. I still can't say I'm totally happy with the results, but as pregens, I can print them out and hand them to players for a one-off. 8)
