I have to agree with the group. You are the judge, take us where your creativity is leading you. I was enjoying the purple planet, but some crawljammer would be awesome too, just not sure how prepared we are for space faring. What ever you want to do judge, we are good with.

Next Round
Blackthorn 20
Arvis 12
Beega 12
Duke 12
Havarth 12
Lucius 12
Qort 11
Nurzual 6
Cyber Zombies 6
Toby 4
Kelven 4
Brandybland 2

Blackthorn stabs the last standing Cyber Zombie in what must have been a vital part of its life-sustaining mechanism. The creature goes inert immediately. Its power matrix discharges as it dies, the electrical shock dealing 2 damage to Blackthorn.

Arvis's knife toss defeats the final enemy, and by pulling Lucius out of the way, Lucius is saved from the final discharge!

End Combat, normal action-time resumes

The rest of the crew hear a thud as the pedestal of worlds lands on the deck of the ship. You sense that if you were to step off the pedestal, Beega would be on the space ship, and not trapped under the arena from so long ago.

Duke steadies herself. The ship is continuing to head towards the Purple Planet's surface. If nothing is done about that, it could be a rough landing.

Havarth steadies himself, relieved that his target is no longer a threat.

Qort continues to fail, and risks JUDGE PUNISHMENT if the next casting fails (basically, I can't let you try the same spell over and over with no success and NOT do something interesting to you...)

Nurzual still has his disk available for a short time longer.

Outside of combat, GIANT-SIZE TOBY is giant for a short time longer.

Kelven stares at an ancient crate, wondering what is inside.

Brandybland pops the top of the crate. As the two look inside, they discover a large device that nearly fills the crate. Anyone who has experience with machinery can make a check to discover what this may do.

What will you do?

Little Beega immediately leaps from the platform and onto the nearest party member in a mini-bearhug. Arvis scans the room for threats or weaponry. How many dormant Ythothians are there?

Kelven is a smuggler, and I don't know if it's come across, but he has airs of being nobility. He's not nobility, but the other characters *were* his servents (I don't think they are anymore [and I don't think he knows that yet]), to keep up the illusion. I don't think he was a smuggler of one thing (booze or people or whatever), working in the dark of night, but rather an "aid" to the rich and famous, as it were.

Do you think the possibility exists that the machine in the crate resembles anything he might have handled for someone with more money than sense? If so, what sort of check should I roll for him...?

Kelven can take a DC 10 Intelligence check to determine what he thhinks the object is.

There are six Ythothians frozen in the glass tubes of the room. They don't seem to have been startled by your fight with their caretakers.

Kelven's INT roll is a 17 for a total of 16!

Blackthorn and Duke are going to sit down in the bridge (castle) and catch their breath for a moment. Things have been going fast and furious for a while now and they are both a bit overwhelmed. If anyone requests assistance with a search etc they will gladly assist.

Sorry to be incommunicado all weekend. 3 solid days of driving to pick up offspring from college, complicated by rain, construction, and tire trouble.

Nurzual will retrieve his chain from the force disk. "Considering that we seem about to crash, maybe we should try reviving one of these fellows? But then, considering that the last one we met was murderous and insane, perhaps not?"

If the danger of Judge Punishment takes the form of foreboding or uneasiness for Qort, he'll stop. If it does not come with any specific sense of dread or discomfort, he'll need to make an intelligence check to realize he's tempting fate with continued failures. That roll is a 5 after modifiers, so he'll try casting again. His spell check is an 8 after modifiers.

Brandybland will keep an eye on the entrance to the area she and Kelven are in, since she doesn't know that the remainder of the group have dispatched all the zombies.

Beega won't go near the pedestal of his own volition, and will likely need be pried from the leg of whomever was nearest when he at last disembarked the damned thing!
Arvis will retrieve his knife and begin peeling the faces from the dead to start a battle standard for his new tribe. Motioning to the Ythothians with his bloodied flint, Arvis asks:
"Hvað um demons að sleeping? Skal ég kill þá fyrir you?"

Merry Christmas to all! I wish everybody on the Purple Planet the best possible holiday season, especially our esteemed Judge! (Terra, I know you said the holidays can be tough for you, but you’re a cool, creative person, and I hope this year things are better!)

Next Turn

After some investigating, Kelvin believes the object is similar to an "air machine" he sold an estranged noble once. The idea was that a person underwater, in a special suit, could breathe like normal as long as they had been connected to the air machine. Of course, the device Kelvin sold didn't work, and he skipped town before the poor nobleman's first dive.

Blackthorn and Duke sit and relax after a long battle.

Qort feels a sense of dis-ease.

Brandybland keeps a watchful eye.

With the ship still falling, Nurzual thinks it may be time to enlist the help of someone who knows what they’re doing. He looks at the Ytothians in their capsules to see if any of them look less intimidating than the others. He’ll also look to see if there seems to be a release mechanism of any kind for freeing them.

Nurzual: I think I’m inclining more and more toward freeing one of these chaps. If we can figure out how to release one, I’ll be ready to magically charm them if necessary!

With no skill at cryogenics, he rolls a d10 to figure out the device. He rolls a 3 plus 1 for his Int mod.

Qort puzzles over his sense of unease and decides that perhaps he hasn’t started off worshipfully enough, so he sits on the deck to pray to his new deity. His intelligence check to try to compose a proper obeisance is a 3, less 1 for his intelligence modifier is 2.

Brandybland peers over Kelven’s shoulder now that he has the crate open, and rolls a 16 to notice and assess anything interesting about the suit’s footwear.

At the moment we're waiting for Gnomeboy and Judge Blackthorn to return so things can keep moving. If they don't post by tomorrow evening I'll skip their actions this round so everyone else can play.

Kelven drops the hose of the air machine back into the crate, disappointed that it wasn't weapons or jewels or a doorway back to his home valley. "Just a dusty, old air machine. Pah. Blandybrand, let's go see what's happening up topside -- clearly there's nothing interesting down here..."

Kelven returns to the top and notices that the planet looks... bigger. "Toby! Just push that thing away from us! You're big enough for some reason to do that, right?"

Toby takes a seat on the deck as he slowly shrinks back down to normal size. He holds his head and looks woozy during the transformation.

Havarth asks, "So how do we steer this thing? The fo'castle or that big pedestal thing? Does there need to be more of us on the pedestal to steer better by...?"

Duke responds to avris with what she believes to be an appropriate response, "yes, probably"

Blackthorn, at a complete loss for what to do next and perhaps over confident from his success with the death Ray attempts to step on to the pedestal.

Hearing Duke's affirmation, Arvis tucks the peeled facepelts into his belt and advances to a Ythothian sleep tube with club drawn.
Beega backs away from Blackthorn and that thrice-damned pedestal to seek Arvis

All talking and moving around happens as you say.

Nurzual has no idea how this machine works. You notice each tube has a small block nearby with buttons on it. Maybe these work the freezing tubes they're linked to?

There's no suit with the breathing machine, though it looks like it must connect to one to be useful. Perhaps there is a suit in one of the other crates?

Qort, while trying to pray, has the realization that maybe they need to build a relationship with their god before asking for help. Maybe some kind of offering or service would be useful in gaining their god's support.

Please Continue.

Brandybland hesitantly follows Kelven abovedecks, becoming more confident when she sees the lack of eye-creatures and zombies ... then less confident when she sees the planet zooming toward them. She sees Blackthorn step into the pedestal and decides that he's done a pretty great job surviving extreme peril so far, so she joins him, asking, "What are we doing?"

Nurzual scratches his chin and contemplates the buttons.

Qort struggles to think of what he might use for a sacrifice to his new deity. His equipment is all so mundane, except perhaps for the kith milk-drink. He decides to give that a shot and holds the drinking skin up, saying, "Oh great Brenrendedil! Please take this weird stuff that gave me strength when that slimy hag-lady was chasing me! I offer it to you as a sacrifice!"

Nothing happens as Blackthorn steps onto the pedestal. Perhaps it needs more power? You're reminded of the impression in the floor inside the castle and the green stones that your party placed inside it.

Blackthorn begins searching the pedestal for signs of a receptacle for a power gem, I’m not exactly sure what we’re doing, Brandy, dying more than likely, do you see any way to power this thing?

Duke follows Avris across the room with her eyes, ”this might get interesting”

(Group, anyone recall how many “power gems” we have found and where they are all currently located?)
