Next Round
Monster, Blackthorn, Qort, Gnomeboy, Fenris, Bilgewriggler

The large creature, sensing its next meal, throws herself at the party. Unfortunately, she has a move of 35', and by my count can get into striking range of the party. (Since Darag passed his stealth check, he is not a valid target for the Hag. Lucky him?) The Hag swipes at Blackthorn instead:
Attack: 16 + 5 = 21; Damage 8+3 = 11.
Blackthorn is ripped apart by the monster, who clearly intends to press her luck and rip your party apart!

Since you were forming a defense until she came to you, anyone who is in the front-line area may attack

Duke eyes the stairwell, averting her eyes from the carnage ahead. So far, that avenue seems safe.

Qort is behind the Hag, who is currently distracted. If he were feeling brave, he could ambush the Hag. Otherwise, the Hag is suitably distracted that he could search for another way out...

Kelven, Toby, Havarth, and Lucius hear the wet sounds of butchery coming from the hallway. The more heroic of them may feel the call of duty; the cowardly may see this as a sign to find a way out.

Darag, Breega, and Kolo are within striking range of the Hag and may strike back this round. Arvis uses his full turn to run down the hallway; he catches up with Duke.

Jingles and Brandybland are also within striking range of the Hag and may strike back this round. Nurzual was exchanging gifts and isn't able to make it all the way to the front before the action commenced; consider Nurzual to be 15' from the front line and 20' from the Hag.

Please make any attacks that were added before we move to next round!

Qort sees his companions engaging the hag and feels that his only chance of survival is with them. He sneaks up behind the hag and attempts to club her. 15 plus 1 for temporary strength makes 16 ... hopefully a hit, for 2 plus 1 equals 3 points of damage!

Brandybland swings her 2-handed sword for a roll of 2.

Jingles jabs with her spear: a 10 ... not likely a hit, but on the off chance this hag has very delicate skin, the damage roll is 3.

Darag leaps out and thrusts her spear into the abomination...
Darag att: 17-2=15 dmg:1-2= min 1?
...while Kolo and Breega swing wildly!
Kolo att: 4+1=5 Breega att: 4-2=2

(And then there was one)

Duke glances in the direction of the combat and gives an exasperated sigh, "Great strategy, Blackshield" She continues to hold the torch for the party and (having no weapon) tries to stay as far away from danger as possible while doing so. If it is absolutely safe to do so she will drag the piece of blackthorn that includes his backpack away from danger in an attempt to "secure Blackshield's belongings for his orphaned children"

Havarth will certainly come running, using his glaive to reach past the front line, if there is no opening. [If even that is not practical, he'll stand by ready for an opening (someone falling back, etc.) and be ready to step up...]

Havarth's Attack roll: 15! Not sure what this purple planet glaive does for damage, so Terra, if you want to roll it this time to keep things moving, that's cool.

Lucius also comes running and will throw his dagger if the opportunity is there... [see above]

Lucius' Attack roll: 14! Again, not sure if the flint dagger does "normal" dagger damage. But rolling a d4 I get: 2 and Strength adds 1. Please modify/re-roll as needed.

Toby comes toward the battle as well, shoving the craven Kelven ahead of him. "You're no longer lurking at the back, 'sir!'"

I imagine the front lines are full at this point... if I'm wrong, I'll see what they can contribute...

(Enjoying the momentary symmetry as I have only one living character and the rest of the group has only one dead character - I regret nothing!)

Sorry gang, her defense is a 16. I will say this is the "boss fight" of the module, and she's statted really tough. If anyone wants to burn Luck to modify their rolls into a hit, that's cool. Otherwise, those are all misses :(

I'll give everyone a chance to make their decision.

Also: I received a PM of a secret triggered action! If that player still wants to do have done that thing, Blackthorn's life may be saved.

Does that mean Qort's kith drink has worn off? His roll was 16 after the temporary strength bonus.

If the drink has worn off, he'll burn a point of luck.

Fenris Ulfhamr wrote:Seeing the hag, Darag points to it and exclaims to Blackthorn in a harsh, whispered tone: "Skrímsli! Skrímsli! Drepa það!" She grips her spear nervously and looks to see if her new companions share her sentiment...

The kith are clearly agitated, but don't break formation until the hag is in range...
Unaware of Blackthorn's stratagem, Darag bursts from the shadows as the abomination approaches her new packmates- the kith will have first blood!
She will burn any amount of Luck (2pts?) to make that (last) attack land.

Oh! I read the 15 only. Sorry I missed that. Qort did hit!

If you do that, the hit transfers from Blackthorn to Darag, meaning Darag will die after your attack. Is that okay?

Gnomeboy, the damage on the Glaive is 1d10! If you decided to burn luck for a hit, Havarth would do 7 damage.

Qort clubs the Hag in the back, doing 3 damage.
Darag does the minimum damage of 1.

Since Blackthorn has been saved due to a triggered action, he may also attack / burn luck.

Havarth will certainly press his luck (and I'll burn one of his points).

It's dead, right? 8)

Should by some wild stretch of fate the thing isn't dead, I think Lucius will also burn Luck (2 pts) to make his flint dagger hit! [He may get +1 damage from strength, if you roll that way.]

Blackthorn sees his life flash before his eyes as the Kith takes a blow that would have surely been the death of him. Undeterred he charges forward, "For the Grizzleynargle!" He swings with his 2 handed sword burning two more of his luck in the process (14+2=16) for 9 damage!

24 damage so far. Another round like that and you've got her taken care of.
Next Round
Monster, Blackthorn, Qort, Gnomeboy, Fenris, Bilgewriggler

Through hacking, stabbing, and bludgeoning, the party severely injures the Hag. Adrenaline surges through her unholy veins as she launches a cleaving strike.

(Hits 1d4 adjacent enemies):3
Attack rolls: 7+5 and=12 7+5 =12 and 3+5=8(miss)
Damage 3+3=6 and 4+3=7
Kolo and Nurzual are cut down by the rampaging monster. A loud, rasping voice laughs in the darkness. "Don't die! If you die you can't set me free! [They're going to die, you know. And the beast won't save you any meat!]"

What will the party do?

As their packmates fall all around them, the kith know no other way but to fight for the hope of a freedom they have never known! Little Beega swings the stone axe that seems hopelessly to big for him,
and Arvis rushes over his fallen comrades to avenge them at dagger-point!

Beega att: 8-2=6 That's a miss...
Arvis: "Fyrir fallið! Fyrir frelsi!"
Arvis att: 15+2=17 dmg: 4+2=6 MAX DAGGER DAMAGE!

I guess we'll never know what Kolo knew about those mushroom bits... :P

Mushrooms are actually a huge part of the local ecology. Some are food, some a medicine, and many are deadly. I wanted to conceal which mushrooms he had in case he died before he could communicate their properties.

(Well if Blackthorn lives until his turn this just got interesting, but I'm not counting on it)

Blackthorn swings wildly and with reckless abandon at the seemingly undying sea-thing, knowing that every second may be his last. 19 to attack and 10 damage on 1d10!

Duke maintains her position watching the right flank, safely out of harms way, and aiding the fight only by poorly illuminating the battlefield with her torch. "Blackshield, have you not dispatched of that stinking, wet creature yet? This is incredibly dull, you know. She says this without looking his direction, and will take the same action weather he is dead or alive at this time.

(If only my PCs that actually had strength bonuses had rolled like Crazy Ol' Blackthorn the Hunter)

--Edit: Sorry, totally missed the description of the monsters actions when writing up my actions, RIP Kolo and Narzual, you will be avenged--
