Tug, Bob, and Vijo ready their meager make-shift weapons. Jan tries to pull the #4 key from its hole. Does it come out? And, if so, does it look like it would fit any of the other key holes--or just #4?

Also, is there enough room on the elevator for all of our groups? Or will we have to take turns?

Chuck, Gene, and Barnum each test the elevator floor with their weapons before getting in.

Tellessa waits until everyone except herself is in and then presses the button again.

Is the thing big enough for all of us...?

I'm picturing an orb or sphere resting on a platform the size of the metal panel that was there before. Certainly big enough in volume, but are we crammed in with our feet all smooshed together at the bottom if we all try to enter?

Maybe it's a 'dome' more than an 'orb'...?

My four board the platform. Malthus states, in Elven, his opinion that each key perhaps leads to a specific room, "4" being preselected as our first test.

Jan tries to pull out key#4 and stick it into slot #1, then #2, #3, etc. Does it fit in any other hole, or just #4?

Then my heroes squeeze onto the platform next to Fenris's gang. "This is gonna be a tight fit," Bob grumbles.

The key easily slides out of the #4 hole.

You're no locksmith, so roll me a d10 (add your INT modifier) and let me know if you get a 10 or higher.

EDIT: Yes, you can all fit, but it's cramped and uncomfortable.

The floor seems impervious to the probing of their weapons.

Pressing the button causes the loud "bing bong!" again but no other apparent effect.

(Hahaha! Bye Jan. It will be challenging to forget him. He was the first to go--but not the last. If we can learn anything from his death, it would probably be the value of a good turnip in situations such as these. A catastrophe might have been averted. Oh well, we'll ship his remains to Uncle Scratchy.)

Jan had a pitchfork, a small sack with two holes poked into it, 36cp, and a goose named Kylie.

Bob rifles through Jan's pockets and takes the 36cp.

Chance hands the goose to Yadin the Gravedigger. "You have a good heart. I think Jan would've wanted you to have Kylie," he says quietly.

And anybody who wants it can have the sack and the pitchfork.

If no one objects, Malthus plucks the key from the corpse and inserts it back into the slot marked "4". Hey glances about to see if all are on the platform that plan to be and moves to press the button unless someone moves to stop him.

Which button? The red button in the small box outside the orb, or the unilluminated one one the control panel within the orb marked EXIT?

Regardless, nothing happens, other than another loud BING, BONG! when the red one is pushed.

Yep. Not a thing. You each remain huddled uncomfortably within the blue orb, #4 key now inserted in the #4 hole, just as you'd found it.

It's very quiet, interrupted only by the "tap, taps" as you press the button, and by the sudden breaking of wind. Just when you think all will let the pony take the blame, there's a mumbled "excuse me" from someone in the back. Possibly one of the dwarves, though you can't be sure.

quozl, what's Barnum's pony's name, anyway? Shaun the sheep, Kylie the goose, "_____" the pony?
